Weaning

Hey mamas hope you're all holding up okay! Weaning will be coming soon and want to prepare are there any good guides to follow exactly what to feed/how much/when/what you can introduce and when/how big it needs to be or is it puree? Feels like a minefield but want to make sure I keep baby safe of course

This website is a great resource for explaining how to prepare food for different ages and when to introduce each:

I got this from my health visitor which might be helpful

good morning, thanks for your message. It sounds as though your little one is definitely getting very ready for food! As a general rule, the current guidance remains 6m for introducing solids, though we do appreciate that there are some babies for whom milk alone isn't going to be enough until that point. Good head and neck control and some hand/eye co-ordination are definitely beneficial.
We know in babies under the age of 5m introducing food too early can increase the likelihood of sensitivities and allergies, and even if keen, they struggle with digestion before this period. You are, however, pretty much at 5m, so fine to consider trying him on some small quantities of solids from 5m. Under the age of 6m we advise just fruits and vegetables, from 6m go for it with family foods, lots of texture and flavour! Keep an eye on sugar and salt content, don't add any into his food.

What should i do?

A long story short,
Me and my bf have a 2 year old. Throughout my pregnancy my bf wasn’t super supportive, once i had our son he was so good for a couple weeks, and since then he has basically left most of it to me. Night feeds, cleaning, food shop, I pay the bills because he is in debt, he does his hobby on either a Saturday or Sunday and an evening or two during the week.. which involves alcohol and drugs.
I do the cooking, washing up, wash his clothes, obviously look after our son.
He will sometimes do the bedtime routine and cook maybe 2/4 times a month.

Anyway, my family think i’d be best without him but somehow i cannot seem to let go. I’m scared I’ll regret it.

Would you stay or leave? And any advice would be appreciated, thank you

Meal times!

How are we coping with meal times?! 😩 Especially those that do it single handedly (my partner is a chef so spends evenings at work) I'm really struggling to juggle trying to keep my 12.5 month old out of trouble/happy whilst I'm cooking dinner and it just all ends up in shambles, i don't like cooking at the best of times but even less when I've either got my little boy tugging at my legs or if i put him in his high chair with toys, he just ends up screaming after 5 mins🤦‍♀️ i don't even know what I'm looking for to be honest just need to know I'm not the only one thats struggling with this part of parenting 😮‍💨 pic of how dinner went tonight for fun 😭🤣

wtf man..

I really need advice. I don’t know what to do at all.
My husband is a bread maker in the house because I’ll stay home and homeschool the kids and take care of the house. Well he doesn’t like the job that he’s at and he wants to leave. I’m behind him and anything that he does but he is now turned in his two weeks and taken the last $60 out of our bank account and it’s really bothering me because we were already behind on what we’re supposed to have to be able to pay our car insurance tomorrow… So now I have to hope that he just has a big enough check that we can pay our insurance and be able to pay the rest of our bills and get groceries because even though he only makes $750 a week and our rent is $1300 a month we make too much to get food stamps…

If you’re at a close friend / relative’s house do you ask if you can eat their foods or snacks or do you just help yourself ?

I’m trying to be better at eating nutritious
meals so I meal prep my meals and snacks. Went to get my snack to see it’s all gone 😒 I’m always the type of person to ask if it’s okay to eat something first if it does not belong to me (even my husband). Like I know Greek yogurt and nuts are his go to snack at night. I’m not gonna eat them all/ the last of it because I know he won’t have anymore - especially without asking!! I’ll add that he probably wouldn’t make a big fuss about this if I did but I still would not.
