Show me your sensory bin ideas and tips! What do you use as filler? How many do you have? What themes? What tools do you use? What activities do you have to go along with them or just free play in the bin?

I’ll share one that I’ve developed, it’s a kinetic sand one for a treasure hunt. I have tweezers and shovels and then a little container to put the gems in. They are gemstones. I want to reuse the kinetic sand for other types of bins, I’m just not sure which ones I should do. I’m going to have the theme rotated, but reuse the filler and tools for variety. I’ll be nannying an extra kiddo in October, so I’m hoping to have this on rotation

I was hoping to have 5 bins total and then rotate themes through them: rice, chickpeas, Pom Pom’s and one more…. Maybe make it an ice bin.
The themes I’m thinking about:
Arctic animals, jungle animals, farm, backyard pets, car wash, colour sort, alphabet and numbers, Dino dig, construction site

I let my kids play in dirt from a pot that never grew

Sand, beans, rice, water, playdough/clay
Feathers, sandpaper, sequins, marbles
I hid things in ours to scoop and find
Got my inspiration from I Spy books mostly
