C-Section advice

Hello all!
I’m due for a C-section in a few weeks and I was wondering if there was anything specific/anything extra that’s helpful that I need to pack in my hospital bag?

Avoid two pieces pijamas/clothes in the first few days. They feel quite uncomfortable early on and I had the impression it would hurt xxx

Honestly, nothing special.

Pack comfy high waisted cotton knickers. Slippers to walk to theatre in. Toiletries for the shower. Long phone cable to charge. A fan helped me as I was super hot both times as the drugs wore off. Comfy pjs with boob access.

Peppermint tea/mints. I really struggled with trapped wind so good to have them on hand as it can be quite common and I found it more painful than the c section incision/wound!

Adult nappies were honestly so comfy and made things SO much easier. Just focus on loose clothing and nothing that will press on your cut too much.

Bath robe tie to tie to end of bed to help pull yourself up and out of bed. Then do the same at home for at least the first 6 weeks. Longer if you have pain or tenderness beyond the 6 weeks

She’s here!!

A bit of a late one but she was due 11th of June but baby Evangeline made her appearance on 30th May!
I had been contracting for days on end with no real pattern, on the 30th I went back into triage with reduced movement and tightenings and she didn’t meet criteria and wasn’t improving so they decided to deliver her via emergency c section that same day. I actually went into labour whilst waiting to go into theatre and was having contractions 2 minutes apart and they gave me the choice to try labour and deliver naturally or have a section, they told me I had a over 50% chance that I’d need a section anyway so for baby girls safety I went ahead with a section.
I had been hoping for a vbac this time round as my little boy was also an emergency section but this c section was so healing from last time. I was able to be awake to hear her first cry and hold her straight away, it was such a beautiful experience 💕
Welcome to the world Evangeline 💖

Blood clot

Anybody else had a blood clot in the chest area during and then after pregnancy? When I was 26 weeks our hospital suspected I had a blood clot but was later ruled out but I’m now 2 months after my c section and I’m now having the same symptoms and have just been up a and e and have been told they think I have another blood clot in a vein in my chest. I’m quite devastated as I feel like I’ve spent my maternity quite unwell so far. I just want to be healthy and able to look after my baby. I’m so scared I’m going to die. I really don’t want to. Anyone had this as well?

She’s here

Came exactly on her due date. Was due to be induced but everything went left .. got into labour naturally. Ended up with an emergency c section. Was a very long and emotional day, but I’m glad we both made it out. Congratulations to those who welcomed their June bundle of joys, this app made it bearable for me for the past 9 months and seeing how all the other ladies where dealing with same things as I was, it was comforting. All the best to those still waiting.
Kiarah , born 9th June, 8lbs 3oz - we are all so in love with her, she’s got her big sis wrapped around her little finger already.

Clueless to what to name the baby

Did anyone else struggle with picking a name. Is there time after birth to choose a name or does it have to ready by the time you in the hospital?

Baby boy arrived yesterday 💙

Baby boy arrived at 40 weeks & 5 days. Born yesterday at 10:32am after only arriving at the hospital 8:30am. Didn’t make it out of triage, no time for any pain relief either 😭. But he’s here and safe and worth being overdue for. His older sister is already so besotted with him 💙🩷
