Insomnia

Has anyone else had major sleep issues? I never had any my first pregnancy and I’ve been really struggling! It’s gotten to the point where I’m only sleeping during the day and I’m only like 5 or 6 hours a day. I’m wondering if anyone has any advice for me too!

I have no advice but I’ve had it all pregnancy, I just hit 30 weeks. I’m about to try and go to bed but we’ll see how that goes

Unisom 25 mg! I take half before bed it’s the only thing that has helped me get sleep and keep my sanity. You can take a whole one but I find it makes me too groggy to get up.

☝🏽 Unisom. I had insomnia prior to being pregnant and this helps put me to sleep. Staying asleep is still a problem (using the bathroom every 2-3 hours lol) but the Unisom helps ultimately. I definitely notice the difference if I do not take it

Yes! This is me! I described it to my doctor and he said to up my Prilosec (heartburn OTC pills) to twice a day. I have been hesitant since the box has all these warnings to take only one every 24 hours and on empty stomach. 2 nights ago I did take a second pill because I was still choking at 6am. I did have improvement by like 50%. I told my doctor I am sleeping 3 pillows high on my side, toss and turn all night. I fall asleep and then gasp for air/choke and wake myself up, fall back to sleep almost instantly and do it again every 3-5 minutes. I do this mostly from 11pm to 1:30am. My husband is beside me scrolling. Half the time I
scream as I gasp for air. I have tried noise strips and it’s been no help, so I told my doctor I think I’m choking on heartburn liquid creeping up my throat. I feel I only sleep from 5am-7:30am…. I dread bedtime.

She’s here!!

A bit of a late one but she was due 11th of June but baby Evangeline made her appearance on 30th May!
I had been contracting for days on end with no real pattern, on the 30th I went back into triage with reduced movement and tightenings and she didn’t meet criteria and wasn’t improving so they decided to deliver her via emergency c section that same day. I actually went into labour whilst waiting to go into theatre and was having contractions 2 minutes apart and they gave me the choice to try labour and deliver naturally or have a section, they told me I had a over 50% chance that I’d need a section anyway so for baby girls safety I went ahead with a section.
I had been hoping for a vbac this time round as my little boy was also an emergency section but this c section was so healing from last time. I was able to be awake to hear her first cry and hold her straight away, it was such a beautiful experience 💕
Welcome to the world Evangeline 💖

Baby boy arrived yesterday 💙

Baby boy arrived at 40 weeks & 5 days. Born yesterday at 10:32am after only arriving at the hospital 8:30am. Didn’t make it out of triage, no time for any pain relief either 😭. But he’s here and safe and worth being overdue for. His older sister is already so besotted with him 💙🩷

Blood clot

Anybody else had a blood clot in the chest area during and then after pregnancy? When I was 26 weeks our hospital suspected I had a blood clot but was later ruled out but I’m now 2 months after my c section and I’m now having the same symptoms and have just been up a and e and have been told they think I have another blood clot in a vein in my chest. I’m quite devastated as I feel like I’ve spent my maternity quite unwell so far. I just want to be healthy and able to look after my baby. I’m so scared I’m going to die. I really don’t want to. Anyone had this as well?

My whole world 💖

Baby Amelia arrived at 15:14 on 08/06/2026 weighing 7lbs 7oz.

I was in hospital since the 4th, tried 3 methods of induction, all of which failed. It turns out I can't actually birth vaginally as my pelvis is too small for babies heads so im glad I didn't try a 4th method and keep tormenting myself. Thankfully Amelia coped well with all induction attempts but still needed forceps as she was trying to move into my birth canal 🥹

I had such an overall positive experience in Derby Royal and im just so grateful to have my angel in my arms 💖

Clueless to what to name the baby

Did anyone else struggle with picking a name. Is there time after birth to choose a name or does it have to ready by the time you in the hospital?
