8 week old feeding

My LO is 8 weeks old, and we have been combi feeding hut mostly formula fed with 2 feeds a day breast fed. He’s currently going through a phase where he’s only drinking 2 oz at a time, goes about 1.5hr/2hrs then drinks another 2oz. He also seems to be quite sleepy at the moment and will have about an hour wake window in between feeds, but sometimes less or sometimes he’ll just fall back asleep. Often he falls asleep mid feed. I’m just worried he’s not currently eating enough for his age. He does eat slightly more in the middle of the night (can do 4oz), so I would say it’s more in the day. How much is everyone else’s 8 week old eating?

This exact thing is happening with my 8 week old. Not sure what to do either!

Sounds like cluster feeding! My 10 week old did the same thing around this age too, he’d have tiny power naps and then have another 2-3 ounces and fall back off. As long as he’s having plenty of wet nappies and doesn’t have any signs of dehydration etc it should be okay but if you have any major concerns I’d bring it up at his next health visitor appointment or GP appointment

Your milk will adapt to your babies needs so it’s quite likely that if he’s not filling up on formula he’ll be getting the rest of what he needs from nursing

My 5 month old still goes through phases like these she’s also formula fed and she’ll go through a “little and often” feeding phase when she’s going through a sleep regression! If there’s loads of wet nappies and he’s not going a lot of hours without a feed he’ll be okay. Your HV will point out if there’s anything to be concerned about but mine always reassured me that little and often is completely fine for small babies!

Is it a woman's duty to have sex with their partner no matter how she feels and to even put her babies 2nd just to please him?

Even if she is post-partum, the default parent, doing everything around the house or maybe not feeling up to it... Should her duty be to have sex? Otherwise he has a "right" to go elsewhere for it or a "right" to treat her unfairly if doesn't? Also should the babies/children come last just to fulfill this "duty"?

Parfume

Weird question
I’m 9weeks pp and ever since I gave birth I haven’t used any perfume on my skin/clothes because I’m scared my baby will not like it or will iritate his skin. Any thought?

How is everyone having sex with so little time?

Honestly, having a newborn/baby under 1 is already challenging specially with the nights where the baby is fighting sleep…how is everyone here finding the time to have sex? Also with bigger wake windows and no family support around to watch the baby!!

Newborn not weeing for 12 hours

For the first few days he did so many wees (I’m feeding him colostrum from the breast as day 3 and my milk hasn’t come in yet) I have so much colostrum is just squirts out of me and leaks etc.

Anyway he did loads of wee’s and poos and he is still pooing but no wee for over 12 hours now.

Really worrying now. Midwives say it’s normal but to wee that much and just stop? I’ve even topped him off with formula because I’m worrying he’s not getting enough.

Anyone else been through it?

Good apps for tracking feeds etc

Hi everyone. Can anyone recommend good apps for tracking feeds and maybe also nappy changes?

My husband and I are currently sending each other messages to note feeds, so we can look back and see when baby was last fed. But I expect many apps exist which could do a better job of tracking more things

6 week growth spurt or something else?

My baby is 6 weeks tomorrow and for the last couple of days he has been so fussy. He cries red in the face during wake windows, so hard to settle. Its not gas because he farts and burps like an old man and he is on dentinox. He sleeps at night, but the days are so long. I thought it may be reflux but then I read that week 6 is the worst .. has anyone else experienced the dreaded week 6 growth spurt? Is this what it is like? I'm thinking of going to the GP to discuss reflux? Shall I wait and see it out?
