Refusing bottle

I need some advice, (HV are not help). I have a 4 month old (EBF)& let’s just say I’m exhausted & need to sleep or get my life back a bit but she will not take a bottle at all. I keep trying her with a bottle, she used to take it when she was 3 weeks old but then had oral thrush for 2 months & wasn’t feeding well on breast & completely refused bottle. Husband has tried, we’ve tried formula & breast milk, different bottles, different teats & still nothing! Help! Mama needs some sleep 😭

Not massively helpful but so you know you aren’t alone, my little boy took a bottle and then got a sickness bug which we think he associated with the bottle so we went through bottle refusal from around 4.5 months, did all the things you’ve said, including useless advice from the HV, eventually at around 8 months started taking the bottle again, lanisoh is what worked for us in the end, personally I would stick with one bottle, one person, one location, but unfortunately you could be in for a long haul

Have you tried nook bottles they are German but my friend swears by them for transition

I’m in similar position but my LG is 7 months. Complete refusal. I’ve just tried tonight giving her it in the bath (advice from off here) And although she didn’t drink much of the milk, she did drink some and was happy putting it in her mouth which is definitely an improvement from before. I’m hoping if I keep doing this she will eventually take to the bottle again 🤞

This probably won’t be very helpful but just wanted you to know you’re not alone. My baby is now 9 months old and is breastfed. We’ve been trying to give her a bottle since she was 5 weeks old 🙈

The only success we’ve had is with my husband, lansinoh teats and I’ve been away overnight. As soon as I’m back she’s refusing again, we’ve honestly tried everything

The good advice we did get was not to put any pressure on it, otherwise they’ll have negative connotations towards it

Use the same bottle and teat each time, at 4 months we used the mam trainer cup as she was keen on holding it herself

I’m actually away for a few nights next month and I’m hoping now she’s a little older, well been able to transition. I’m very ready to stop breastfeeding now and back to work soon. My nipples also can’t handle the teeth anymore 😭

I’m probably very naive but I didn’t realise this would be a thing!

Sex - when? Where? How???

I'm wondering when, where and how you're having sex (if you are) if you have a baby.

Some context: our baby is 3.5months old. She sleeps very well, but in the bed with me (not looking for cosleeping advice or debates here, I know the guidelines and follow them).

My husband sleeps in a separate bed (to reduce the cosleeping risks). We have a bedside cot but she rarely sleeps in there because as soon as we put her in there, she wakes up. For now, it's all working out pretty well. She sleeps all night pretty much, and both me and my husband get a pretty good night's sleep.

My question is when and where do you have sex if you're in a similar situation?

We can't seem to make it happen because she always wakes up, despite being a very good sleeper at literally any other time 😅

Breastfed Green Poo??

For the last week or so my little one poo has been very green. I’ve read it can be too much foremilk and swapping breasts too soon. An allergy to something I’m eating or slightly unwell. Baby is absolutely fine in herself and very content. Any other breastfed babies poop green? Or should I get in touch with doctors.

partner struggling

my partner is struggling at the moment with the fact that my 4 week old only really settles for me and stays asleep when being held by me or next to me. his paternity leave was only for 2 weeks and he does things like nappy changes and bottle feeds but he finds it hard when baby starts fussing and won’t settle. his ears are also sensitive to the newborn screech crying which doesn’t help either. he wants to be able to give me a rest and a break for longer than 20 mins and he wants to have a connection to baby like me and i’ve explained to him that baby boy sees me as an extension of him and clinginess is normal at this stage, but is there any other good advice i could give him?
