Curious

Have any of you had a c section and your tubes tied at the same time? Me and husband are thinking about possibly another child but it will be the last pregnancy id be willing to have. Im just curious if anyone has been in the same situation and had a sterilisation done at the same time.

In same situation, pregnant w/twins so I've been asking my 2 different obgyn doctors about this topic exactly.

Yes it can easily be done at the time of the C-section. Or if you don't then (or deliver vaginally, they can do it a few wks later).

By surgery, I mean either:
take ur tubes out= bilateral salpingectomy (slightly lowers ur future risk of cancer of tubes, as the dr explained to me)
vs tie tubes=bilateral tubal ligation

Either can be done w/ C-section while they're in there already, saving u recovery time & a faster recovery/less pain vs having to undergo separately the delivery & later the surgery. Done at the same time, more cost effective too.

I started asking during my 1st trimester ob dr visits,& I make sure to communicate it to each doctor @every follow-up visit I have w/ them, so it's in the birth plan.

Not sure where u live/type of insurance. But for me, I'll need to sign the surgery consent form AT LEAST 30+ days PRIOR to expected delivery date, per my insur.(Can change my mind later)

Does this scan look normal?

8 weeks today. Private scan. Healthy heartbeat and sonographer noted no concerns. I’ve worried myself that the babies head isn’t forming properly😩

What to pack for postpartum & the hospital?

Hey girls, new mum to be here 😅! Idk what else to pack for hospital or what else i’d need for hospital? I’m trying to be minimalistic and just bring what I actually need! I don’t live far from the hospital.
If anyone has done this before please let me know what you think and fill me in with your must have products 🩷🤗

Big baby?

Hi, has anyone had a similar experience to me?

I’ve been told my baby is on the bigger side. They were not worried about all measurements, but at 39 weeks his abdominal circumference (belly) is measuring on the 97th centile. They said they would recommend either induction or a C-section while his growth isn’t too excessive. His estimated overall growth is on the 86.6th centile, so he’s bigger than average but not considered extremely large he is 3,775g which was 38+5

I’m exactly 39 weeks tomorrow and will be seeing a consultant to discuss it. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? What did you decide to do, and how big was your baby (centile and birth weight)? Was it just the baby’s belly measuring large, or was the whole baby measuring big?

Also, does anyone know why only his belly would be measuring large while the rest of him isn’t?

Pains

Currently 36 weeks+5 with my first. Was still working today but have had to come home due to really sore back pains (paracetamol not touching it) but now have cramping higher up at the front! Think I'll phone triage again but just wondering if anyone else experienced this and if I should be concerned or not! Back pain seems to be getting worse/duller!
