I am currently 23+5 and I had a GTT test at 17weeks and that was negative however I now need another one and I’m so stressed that this one will be positive 😬
I have spoken to my consultant today and he has said that if it is positive I will be induced at 37 weeks so that will
Make my chances of a c section higher and I really do not want another one!!
Has anyone else had a GTT positive in a previous pregnancy but not in this one?

Hey, just to say, I had to have a c section with my first and I REALLY didn't want one. I cried during it and it was mainly fear of the unknown and also the fact I felt rob of choice. However, I wouldn't be opposed to having one again and I am much more open to it. I am going to try natural again but either way, a healthy baby is best! X

No to your actual question, I was diagnosed 17 weeks with my first and 12 weeks this time but my advice if you are diagnosed would be to firstly to join Gestational Diabetes UK on Facebook (there is also a website which is a fantastic resource). It's such a supportive group and full of helpful advice. And secondly to not panic about induction. GD alone, whether medicated or not, is not reason alone to induce. It will absolutely be recommended as standard practice but lots of women have very heathly pregnancies and babies with GD, and don't need intervention to bring on, or during, labour. It will depend on how the rest of your pregnancy goes, how well managed your glucose levels are and whether you have any further risk factors, but try not to worry!
Ps, I was induced at 37 weeks with my first (not actually due to GD but pre-eclampsia) and had a really positive, quick and low intervention labour. Try to think positive and keep an open mind 🧡🧡

You don't need to say yes to an induction. If your diabetes is well controlled then there is no additional risk to you or baby.
