I am 40+4 today and I'm seriously struggling with our baby boy not being here does anyone know remedies that actually work for helping induce labour. I do excersizes, walks, spicy foods and pineapple but none of it's working. I'm having braxton hicks and alot of pressure on my belly but no signs of labour. Please help a mumma to be out šš»

Nipple simulation (you can do yourself). Getting a membrane sweep from your doctor. Flat out asking to be induced if you really want.

Baby will come when he is ready. Those labor inducing things are old wives tales. I know it sucks so bad and you just want him to be here but I promise it will be worth it when he comes.

I hear you mama⦠what is the exact root of your stress? Are you uncomfortable⦠are you trying to avoid medical induction and dealing with pressure from your provider
Just a reminder from a birth doula of over 10 years here - labor happens and doesnāt need to be āmadeā to happen. I think itās easy to forget because we are told induction is the only option once we are past 40 weeks so everyone tries to get it going before the body is ready. Studies show that average first time births when left unmoderated start around 41+1.
Rest, eat yummy food, take walks in the sun, prioritize pleasure (nonsexual and sexual - sperm has prostaglandins that can help ripen cervix, for extra credit;).
I know it never helps to say āstop stressingā but we are mammals and labor is a hormonal event. Prioritizing pleasure & rest is not just a nice thing to say, it literally signals safety in the body, which is what tells the body itās a safe time for baby to arrive.
Deep breaths. Your baby is coming.

honestly just rest as much as you can before the baby comes, i know itās hard to wait but trust me , rest.
