I really like this question because sometimes I feel like my experience has been too easy haha. I definitely feel like our second child may humble me.
My son is 18m and I feel like we have had a wonderful experience. We have been together for 16 years, lived together for 10. So we know how to communicate our needs with each other and how to manage a household before baby ever came. We also raised two puppies (which was almost harder than the newborn phase).
We are older, we both have established careers that pay well, we bought our house years ago so our mortgage is cheaper than most nowadays. I’m in Canada so we have 12-18 months paid maternity leave (he also took paternity leave). Health care is “free”. We took a bunch of classes in prep for baby. I had everything I needed at home and had lactation support and made so many mommy friends in the first year. Daycare is subsidized so it’s affordable.
