First Birthday Party

Im throwing my baby girl a first birthday party, I know its more for us than for her, but I rented the venue and was looking for some tips on how to save money and still make it a special party. I will also take tips on how to entertain children in a party. It's all so new to me

Have ChatGPT over the next few days make colouring sheets of your daughter with her friends. I do this and we have a colouring table set up and then on their party box favours, I print out smaller pictures to attach to their boxes.

Temu/shein for party boxes and party favours. I had fairy first party theme so we had wands, bubbles, M&S hack for biscuits and then the works for 10 books for £10 so they each got a new book. For decorations, a diy balloon arch pack from Amazon but you can do temu and shein them at B&Q had them cut some MDF into two different heights (£16 all in), painted it with paint we had and then got stencil stickers locally done for £9 to add to it then put the balloons around it. I’ll find a photo

When we did my sons 1st birthday we hired out some soft play equipment to keep the little ones and him entertained whilst the adults mingled. Worked out well.

We had a garden party - I bought decorations and a balloon arch from Shein, a few garden games including a giant cardboard ice cream van that the kids could colour in. Kids don’t need a lot they tend to name their own fun! And I made her cake, inspired by the unbirthday cake in Alice in wonderland (she’s called Alice!)

Is this labour?

If your waters didn’t break, were you sure you were in labour (when you actually were)?

Context: I’ve been having horrendous stomach cramps that come and go, together with diarrhoea. I don’t think it’s labour so just wonder if I’ll just ‘know’ when it is?!

Reduced Movements

I had to pop to triage this morning for a change in my baby’s movements. Usually she’s really on the surface and gives lots of strong kicks, but they have been really muffled and they feel really far back. I thought it was worth checking! This happened a couple of weeks ago too, and they have told me I need to have a scan as I have been to triage twice in 21 days. Has anybody had to have a scan for this too? 🫣

Scans

How many scans have you had in total? I’ve had 7 and feeling like that is a lot! I have 4 more scheduled too 🫣

Is it too late for a scan?

Hi all

I haven’t seen baby since the 20 week scan and I really wanted to see her but have been debating - i have an anterior placenta and im 32 weeks tomorrow - is there any point? Should i go for a 4D one too? It would be with window to the womb as I did 6 week and 15 week gender/private ones with them and had a good experience - they did say come back at 26 weeks max but I was just settled on not going back and now I really want to see her.. Thanks xx

Hospital bag advise!

I am only 28 weeks but want to start getting things gathered for my hospital bag! I have no idea where to start, can any one tell me the absolute essentials and things that people stay to bring but you don’t actually use (I hope that makes sense) this is for me and baby!
