Allergy or normal?

My 8 week old baby has been pulling her legs up, grunting through the night and sometimes arches her back when feeding (and then we burp her and shes ok). The health visitor watched me feed her on Wed & said she was bloated after 2 oz which wasn't normal. She suggested she may have an allergy to the milk (we were using kendamil), her trumps were smelly and we were having to do bicycle legs often and help her to go for a 💩. Her 💩 started off as a paste like consistency and then was runny.

We changed to aptimel pep 1 on Wed and she's even worse, she's refusing the bottle, is crying out in pain and isn't trumping on her own at all and is even worse going for a 💩.

My question is... has anyone had similar experiences to what my baby was like on Kendamil, like was it normal baby behaviour or does she have an allergy to the cows milk?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Me and my partner are going out of our minds 🙏 x

Unfortunately HVs like to go straight to "it sounds like a milk allergy"... When actually other than extra wind she doesn't have any signs of.

Cows milk allergy will show signs of mucus in poo, can sometimes go green (not always), can sometimes have blood in the poo.

It actually sounds more like just trapped wind since baby's poo is a normal baby poo consistency. Some babies digestives systems take a bit longer to mature. Some babies struggle to poo, some get more wind etc. I would try something like lactulose or similar for baby from the doctor first and see if that helps before cutting out milk.

Is there a history of milk allergy in the family? Xx

Edit - also, could be reflux causing tummy ache. So baby gaviscon could be an option too. Have you tried gripewater or infacol? Xx

Have you tried Nanny care goats milk. I haven't tried as BF but my friend used this and swears by it. Similar reasoning xx

Blood and mucus in their poo is a massive sign, same with a rash and sickness etc.

My first son had CMPA and Nutramigen changed our lives (not even being dramatic). My son’s was so bad i couldn’t even wait until my breastmilk filtered out the dairy. He would have jelly like blood in his nappies and cry 24/7 it was horrific x

Moving baby to their own room

Hi all, did anyone move their baby into their own room early? My little boy is 5 months but is getting too long for his next2me and keeps knocking himself against the sides and waking himself up in the night. I am thinking of moving him into his cot in his room but unsure?

6 hour stretch at 6 weeks

I know I should probably just be happy about such a large stretch of sleep overnight but is this normal; my first didn’t sleep that much until he was probably closer to 2 years old!! May baby is breastfed and I cannot remember what the norm is

5 year old CONSTANTLY swearing😭

It's gotten to a point where my 5 year old is constantly swearing, muttering "f*ck" to himself over and over, or saying "what the f*ck" as he's playing with his toys. I've done some research and it says that they're testing boundaries and a big reaction will encourage them to do it more. I'm trying my best not to react, however I have taken his Switch and iPad off him as he needs to learn it's not okay to say. Just looking for some advice really on what approaches I can try or some tricks maybe? I'm grateful for anything at this rate. 🥲

Has anyone’s newborn sounded like this?

He’s 3 weeks old, born via c section. He was laying in his basinet in the early morning making these sounds. It seemed he was also trying to push for gas/poop at the same time

Sleep schedule - how can we improve?

Hi mums, my LO is 7 weeks old. We’re finding night time wakes exhausting. This is our first so we don’t know what’s considered “good” in terms of nighttime sleep.

Between 10pm to 6am we have around three nighttime wakes where he’s up for around 30 mins to an hour. His longest sleep stretch is from when he goes down which is 3 hrs, and then he’s waking every 2.5 hours after that. Any advice on how we can lengthen the 2.5 hours? I’m hoping to get him to the 4/5 hour mark. He’s been in this pattern for the last three weeks and it’s not improving.
