Did you have any symptoms of gestational diabetes? I have my test tomorrow not looking forwards to it🫣 it was negative with my daughter but i just have this feeling it wont be this time x

I can help you ❤️ I had gestational diabetes with my first one and now have again diagnosed with same during second. I’m doing good without need of any medication. I can tell you recipes and diet❤️

How long did it take to get a result,I had my test on Friday last week. Hope you get some helpful answers x

My favourite meals currently have been a fillet of grilled, breaded or southern fried chicken with stir fried vegetables and then half a portion of packet cous cous or a small handful of homemade lightly seasoned sweet potato fries. I also love low fat crustless quiche (normal fat is equally fine) with low fat coleslaw, salad & corn on the cob. There's also sausages and mash made with sweet potato swede and carrots, then either a side of vegetables or low sugar low salt beans. My gravy is homemade so doesn't contain too much salt. And my last favourites are a simple ham salad sandwich with seeded bread and a low fat butter or I have chicken wraps with wholemeal wraps, salad and a low fat dressing. I probably have tons more recipes to give as I'm a major foodie but those are off the top of my head. Best of luck 👍🏼 🩷

I have GD and managing it with diet and exercise .
My biggest challenge was the fasting sugar but having a slice of cheese just before bed helps keep it stable ( sometimes I have yoghurt like a few table spoons.
After making the changes they suggested like basmati rice and sour dough bread the other thing I found that has worked is food pairing and food sequencing . Basically I clothe the carbs by having it with a protein and or fat ( avo or nuts or cheese ) and food sequencing I start by having protein and salad then eat the carbs it just allows for digestion to slow down breaking those carbs to fast and it keeps my sugars from spiking . Finally I try and walk for 15-20 min after every meal. This last one was a faff for me to start but now I really enjoy it :) all the best .
Almost forgot chia seeds in your water or in your oats ( if you enjoy oats for breakfast are amazing

I just want to add here that while some people may be able to manage it with diet and exercise, it’s not the case for everyone and that’s ok. I’m completely healthy if not low BMI, have a pretty good diet, regularly exercise yet developed GD. I tried managing it with diet as so many suggested is easy, but unless I ate literally no carbs, my fasting sugar would spike in the mornings and was progressively getting worse. I was put on metformin and it didn’t help, so I was getting really desperate because you need to eat some carbs when pregnant for healthy baby development but the second I ate any carb in any combination, my sugar would spike. In the end I was given a dose of slow release insulin per day and it has completely fixed it! No more spikes and I’m back to eating mostly a normal diet (obviously not eating any sweet treats or excessive amounts of carbs, but aside from that pretty normal). So if you can’t manage it with diet and exercise, it’s ok and there are solutions!
