Is there anything i need to worry about? Also how bad do labor contractions hurt? Is it ok to be terrified?

Of course it is okay to be terrified. All the stories we constantly hear and all the risk we are constantly told about. Its hard not to worry about what could go wrong.

I was induced with my first and am doing everything to avoid it this time around. Natural labor contractions are painful but you can find ways to cope as youre making endorphins and oxytocin has an easier time playing a role in comfort. Synthetic contractions make early labor look like active, active look like transition, etc. Its more intense for longer. However with great mental prep and an even better support team and tools, you can make it through. If you want to go unmedicated id spend the next 2 weeks prepping mentally everyday all day. Practice your breaths and how to cope with discomfort. If not, you can ask for the epidural at any time.

So normal to be nervous or scared of whatever! Contractions hurt yes, especially when an induction and the pitocin they come on much stronger than they would naturally. If they start off your induction with the oral pill and then move you to the Pitocin, I would highly suggest that they make sure they have you on the lowest dose possible for Pitocin when they begin. When I went in for my first induction, they started with the pill in the evening. They gave me some medication to help me sleep and with anxiety then in the morning, they started Pitocin and that’s when things got very painful for me. I think they had it too high because at 2 cm dilated. I felt like I needed the epidural other than that induction is great and it went wonderful for me. What helped the most also is make sure you have some snacks in case they do allow you to eat. Also bring some things to help Keep you busy while you wait for things to progress. Make playlist music help distract me the most and calmed me

Is this risky?

Im 27 weeks pregnant and have a toddler. My husbands mum wanted to visit us in our house but has been confirmed today that she has shingles. The husband (my husbands dad) lives with her and they share the same bed but he has had chicken pox before. They were meant to be visiting us this weekend for my husbands birthday, is it safe for the husband (my husbands dad) alone to come visit us or can he still bring some risk to me. I’m pregnant and never had chicken pox before.

24 weeks - midwife appointment

Hey lovelies. Tomorrow I have my 24 weeks appointment with the midwives. What did your midwives do during this appointment? Do you know if I am going to listen to the baby’s heartbeat? Thanks

Calling anterior placenta mamas!

I’m 24 weeks and I thought baby was finally getting into a movement pattern but it seems to have changed again 🫠 he had consistent movement pattern last week, changed towards the end of the week to a new pattern for a few days and now we’re back to square one again. It makes me sooooo worried!

Potential twins!

I have just been for my early scan and I should've been around 6 weeks and a day, scan has showed more around 5weeks. Have been told that there is 2 gestational sacs!! One has definitely got yolk in and the other is possibly empty. Has this happened to anyone else before? My mind is boggled. Back in 2 weeks for another scan.
