Swaddle or not to swaddle

My boy is now 6 weeks and we’ve just started using the love to dream swaddle. He is sleeping better because he’s startling less but I’ve seen so much chatter online about how you should allow the startle reflex to happen. What are people’s experiences??
I do feel a bit bad but mainly because he looks like he just escaped from an insane asylum when he’s trying with all his might to wriggle out of it at 3 in the morning 🤪🤣

Hahah it makes him look like a rotisserie chicken but my 7 week old has been in it since day 1 and absolutely loved it! Goes straight to sleep the minute he's in it 😂

I’ve never swaddled either of mine, the startle reflex is there for a reason.

I’ve also had several friends who had newborns sleeping well then it went to pot once they could roll and had to sleep with arms out because they’d never slept that way x

Gro egg

So ofc I was doomscrolling instead of sleeping, did you know you can dim your tommee tippee gro egg?! 🤣

I honestly can’t even with not knowing this 🤣 I’ve really struggled to sleep with it illuminating the entire bedroom and now it’s dimmed down I’m finding it strange 🫠

Epidural

Hey all! I had my little girl 10 weeks ago. I ended up having the epidural after already having a long labour, I was exhausted in the end, I made a decision to have it.
I am still having a bad lower back and some numbness in my left knee. Has any else experienced this.

Maybe doesn’t help, I had emergency forceps delivery, so I had to be numbed on top of the epidural I was pumping into myself also.

Please don’t think I’m crazy

Not technically a poll but I need answers and this is the biggest group. My friend and I are debating back and forth about our babies’ ages. My daughter was born January 12th. Today is exactly 24 weeks. Which would be the equivalent to 6 months. But she said no. June 12th is 5 months. January 12th to June 12th. Her baby was born May 28th. She said she’s a month old yesterday. I said no.. she’s a month and 4 days old. Now I feel like we don’t even know how old our fricken kids are lmfao. Someone explain how they do this?

Milton cold water sterilisation

I’m currently on holiday and using Milton cold water tablets to sterilise. How do I dry the bottles as I need to take some of the bottles out of the bucket to make room for my rapid cools. If I shake the bottles and they’re still a bit damp when putting together won’t that be an area of bacteria or mould to grow?

Won’t sleep, help😭

My usually good sleeper has woken up every night multiple times over the last week from 1/2am and there is nothing settling him😭 He wakes up crying so we go down, but he’s fine and lies there with his eyes open. Soon as we leave the room he’s hysterical again. There is literally nothing we do that works to get him back to sleep. Both my husband and I are shattered. He got HFM end of last week and it’s completely messed everything up. He’d finally made really good progress with his nursery settling last week and I just know this will have set him backwards as he doesn’t want a dummy for comfort and is fighting any sort of sleep. At our wits end now and don’t know what to do as he’s never done this before. I’m wondering if I need to keep him off nursery while he is so unsettled and is likely to struggle sleeping while there. My alarm goes off in less than 2hrs for work and he still hasn’t gone back to sleep😫😭
