Early scan

Heyy all

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if an early scan is worth it? Thinking about booking one for 8 weeks but £80 to see what might just be a blob doesn’t seem worth it?!

When did everyone get their nhs scans ? Were u closer to 12 or 14 weeks?

Depends on what you’re getting from it. Lots of people with previous early losses like them for the reassurance that gives them.
I personally wouldn’t but I haven’t had any early losses.

I went through ivf so had early scans. It will basically look like a mouse with a heartbeat. Well at least that's what I thought mine looked like. Thankfully turned out not to be a mouse 😂

8 weeks is a typical first scan here, they call it your dating scan. If you’re high risk or working with a clinic, they can do as early at 6 weeks.
For me, the early scans are worth it. Because sometimes there isn’t a baby, sometimes the baby doesn’t grow, etc. And I rather find that out dinner rather than later.
Is this your first baby? Because seeing anything at any point of gestation is super special for your first.

I went when according to my last period I would've been 11 weeks but baby measured 8 weeks, it was expected to be off because my periods are very irregular so my estimated ovulation day was inaccurate. I had a transvaginal scan and saw babys nubs, yolk sack and heartbeat and it was the most magical little blob I'd ever seen and worth it for me personally 😊 so weird as I'm writing this I have my 8 days earthside little blob sleeping on my chest 🥲

I had one at 7 weeks to ease my anxiety and convince me ir was real 😅 was very much worth it. 12 weeks is a long time in the first trimester if you have symptoms!

Baby Iris (due 13th July)

My 2nd baby. Found out late that i had gestational diabetes. Had it in first pregnancy but passed twice this time. At 36 weeks they said I was measuring big and needed a growth scan. Then baby was estimated to be 97th percentile. Had another test and found the gestational diabetes was back! You can imagine my relief when I went into spontaneous labour at 37+2. Woke up to my waters breaking at 12:50am. Contractions started about 1 hour later. Then Iris was born at 3:20am weighing 8lb 7oz. Just 2.5 hours from waters breaking! I have quick labours as my son's was 4 hours.
She's a very good, chill newborn! After having a velcro newborn first time, I'm enjoying this time round more!
Good luck to everyone yet to give birth. You've got this💪

Advice wanted!

Hi! I'm 25weeks! I just need some advice if possible, So I was out walking yesterday, I won't lie I felt like I was sitting more then I was actually walking, I kept feeling like the baby was sitting very low on my stomach and it was discomforting, is this even normal? Or does anyone know how to release the tension?

Morning ladies,

Times ticking, I'm 40+2 I really don't want to get induced but I know pregnancy gets dangerous the more time goes on.

What's your thoughts on induction??
