Tongue tie

I'm so annoyed, health visitor came to visit today and she had previously shut down my concerns of getting a referral for it to be cut. Today he weighed 4kg @ 6 weeks and has been really fussy on the boob/ trapped wind and she has now said his tie is really prominent and likely causing issues. Just feel like I should have pushed more when she last came to visit. She has told me to syringe feed if possible, anyone have any advice. If the urgent referral takes too long under NHS, I will go private.

Health visitor was also a bit problematic for us. I contacted my midwife team and they were much more helpful. Got the referral right away, currently waiting for an appoinment!

Oh they can be so funny about tongue ties I had one refuse to look because his weight was fine! He did have a tongue tie just like my older one.
Fingers crossed you get an appointment quickly, mine took around 2 weeks once the referral was in

Social media babies sleeping 10 hours+

Please tell me I’m not the only mom who’s baby still isn’t sleeping thru the night.
My son is gonna be 6m soon and I keep on saying videos saying he should already be sleeping thru the night no wakings to feed. He eats like how he does during the day, wakes every 3 hours, he very quickly goes back to sleep.
We’re not interested in doing any kind of harsh sleep training, we just have a good nighttime routine and just attend to our baby when he calls for us
Any other moms sleep waking up with their babies? And when did your baby (non sleep training) start sleeping thru the night or at least longer stretches.

Owlet sock critical alarm

Daughter was in bed with me last night as she is teething. Her owlet sock sounded the critical alarm at 3:30 in the morning. I panicked and grabbed my daughter but she was completely fine and started giggling. When I checked the app this morning it showed that I had an alert but when I looked at her stats for 3:30 in the morning it doesn’t even show a drop in oxygen. Has anyone ever got false critical alarms? Should I go to the GP to have her checked?

Had anyone held their child back a year in school? Did it benefit/help your child?

My daughter struggled with speech for a while between 1-3 years old. She starts school this year and I’ve thinking of ahead of maybe having her repeat kindergarten next year as well because I feel like she could really benefit repeating it. My boyfriend doesn’t seem to agree as much. I’m genuinely wondering if I’m making a mistake of thinking of taking that route? Should I wait and see how her first year goes?

How frequently is your baby waking throughout the night?

And how many weeks are they? Do you have a bedtime(ish)?

Putting down to sleep

My little boy generally goes down to sleep lovely for his first bit of sleep of the night. He will usually sleep for about 3-4 hours and then wake for a bottle.

However once he’s had the bottle it’s impossible to lay him down again! He squirms, grunts etc and then wakes after about 30 mins, so after that he will only sleep being held for the rest of the night.

I can only assume it’s wind so have been trying my best to make sure he’s burped etc before laying him down, but I don’t get the difference from the first lay down where he sleeps no problems?!

Please help! 🤣
