Hey all! I’m in my 2nd Trimester now (16 weeks) and am really struggling with anxiety about almost everything! First off it was to do with the aches and pains i’ve been getting (now i know these are ligament pain) but this still doesn’t stop me worrying. now i’ve woken up this morning and compared my bump to 14 weeks and it appears smaller? I probably sound like i’m being silly but I just wondered if anyone had dealt with anxiety and how they overcome it? I can’t/ won’t get scans every week because this will just feed into my anxiety.

I’m sorry that I won’t be much help but it feels like you took this straight out of my brain - I’m really struggling with this too!
Never been pregnant and in my late 30’s, everything is so out of control and I don’t think my brain has even accepted it as a reality yet (even though I’m starting to show).
Sending lots of cwtches and you’re welcome to message me if it would help x

Anxiety is definitely something I wasnt prepared for! The only thing that has seemed to help me is talking about how I feel. Not to my husband (as I dont want to add to his anxiety, one of us needs to be calm) but to friends who have been pregnant. Hearing loads of different stories and experiences of pregnancy helped me rethink my symptoms rather than over thinking them. I had a miscarriage in December last year so I have been on edge this time, I just have to remember, water is gold and so long as I am doing everything I can to be healthy for little baby thats all I can control.
Youve got this and you are stronger than you know! X

I struggle with anxiety and raised it with midwife. They said to contact your doctor if it gets too much and you can also contact your midwife to ask them to refer you to the maternity mental health team. Anxiety is meant to be very common in pregnancy and it’s hard not to worry, but there is help out there ❤️
