Nursery
Does anyone else notice a difference/change in their little one after going to nursery? She seemed to lose her confidence when she started, she used to go off and not look back. We've recently been on a family holiday and her confidence by the end of the week was really high, we normally go to classes and she was going off etc. she's been back to nursery this week and she's gone back in her shell again. She always says no nursery and counts down and doesn't seem to want to go (however she's fine when she goes in). Has anyone experienced anything similar? I'm really concerned she isn't enjoying nursery and that it's affecting her more than we realise 😫

The only change I noticed in my wee girl is she's learning faster and more confident in some ways. Maybe another one of the kids or nursery staff is giving her a hard time. I'd definitely question it and maybe try to change nursery. She's always excited to go in to play with her friends in the morning but also excited to come home when she's tired at home time. Thats such ashame I hope you get it resolved 😞❤️
It's natural to be up and down with nursery for some children.
We had similar, out of the blue 4 months ago, not wanting to go, nervous chewing her hand.
Once she's in she's completely fine and she's telling me she has friends.
But she is in her shell a bit there, they said she doesn't say a word, whereas at home she never stops! She says a few words to friends and occasionally to them.
I've researched and checked it all out and it seems the more empathetic sensitive souls just struggle a bit when under 4 in bigger settings. But it's not long term detrimental.
For us, ultimately she's got to continue to build her resilience and confidence in going as school is here before we know it and definitely not optional. 🤷
Hmm sounds a bit concerning to me, have you raised this with them? Do they have cctv? Do you see her at nursery before she sees you so you can see how she’s acting, like at pick up etc? Not to worry you but if it were me I’d investigate.
