Hey mommas! I had a inquiry about health insurance. I currently live in louisiana, im a first time expecting mother looking for good insurance. Ive tried medicaid but they’ve been giving me the run around due to my income going on 3 months now and time is only winding down. I was wondering if you guys knew any good plans or services that could provide some type of coverage for medical bills, doctor’s appointments and other expenses. Im grateful for literally any advice.

Virtual friendships

As grown women with children it's crazy to be upset with another grown woman for not texting or talking to you everyday. I have friends whom I've been friends with for years and we can go literally months without speaking, when we do align with each other we just catch each other up. Its not healthy to become dependent upon someone who you met on the Internet. The entitlement to feel as though they should speak to you everyday and not take into consideration the fact they we're grown, raising children, work and have our own lives. In my opinion those our signs of dependency and it's not healthy!

Is there any way my husband could take paid leave to support me?

I'm struggling with one kid, let alone two (due in August). I've had zero support (no family, no nursery nearby that takes under 3s),for the last 3 years and I feel like I can't cope anymore. This pregnancy has been so hard and I need more support but my partner works full time over 4 days a week. Is there ANY way he could take some paid leave to help me? I realise I am clutching at straws but I'm desperate

How much is okay to spend on a teacher for an end of year gift? - any gift ideas will be appreciated

I was thinking of a gift card, but I also want an item for her to remember.
Will 20£ gift card be okay? With another little item?

I will have to get it x two as want to also get something for the teaching assistant.

Going on Maternity leave and funded childcare hours

Hi all!
I have seen many posts in the group about going on mat leave, and I thought about sharing a piece of information in case someone doesn’t know.
The entitlement of the funded childcare hours will depend upon when we return from maternity leave: government funded hours starts on the official terms (September for autumn, January for Spring, and April for Summer). Based on my research the earliest we can apply would be for September’s term and if we want to have the funded hours from then, we need to go back to work on or before 30/09/2027. So if you leave to go on maternity leave in October and take the full year off, returning only on October/2027, you will become entitled to the funded hours only from January 2028.
I know not everyone can or need access to the funded hours, but for those who do I know it can mean a massive strain in our finances not having it.
I don’t know much beyond that, I’m not a specialist, but I’ve learned searching on Nugget, best start in life, and of course some AI help.

Since I’ve had my wee man and he’s turning 11 months old this month and all my other friends had their babies as well it’s like everyone went their different paths/ways and it’s like your left on your own and am I the only one that’s finding it so difficult to make friends?…

Back to work 30 hours positive stories

I’m going back to work 30 hours a week in October and up until now I felt fine about it but now I am absolutely dreading it. I feel like if I was going back on less hours I wouldn’t be dreading it as much as I have friends who have gone back on 3 days a week and been ok, but don’t know anyone who has gone back on 30 or more.

I can’t afford to do any less nor will my work let me so that’s not an option.

Anyone back to work on 30+ hours able to reassure me that it’ll be ok and I’ll still see lots of little one? 😭
