Can babies skip crawling and go straight to walking?

My baby seems more interested in standing and trying to walk rather than crawling. Is it normal for babies to skip crawling entirely, and has anyone else experienced this? I’m curious to know how things turned out for other moms whose babies skipped crawling.

It can happen however most pediatricians are split 50/50. It’s important for babies to learn to crawl and I would encourage you to watch pediatric physical therapists talk about why crawling is crucial. Often times they will also discuss how to engage/encourage baby to crawl and build those skills.

Yes lots of babies do

Lots of babies do skip crawling but i would recommend you give them as much opportunities to crawl as it helps with other developmental milestones much later on.

My mom said I went straight to walking at 9 months and figured out how to crawl after that.

My oldest skipped crawling & my youngest only club crawled. From my understanding, it’s not actually a milestone, at least not in the sense that it’s something that has to be reached, it’s cute & a good first major mobility, but it’s unnecessary for all to do it. My oldest walked at 8m after an attempted crawl propelled him backwards, got him stuck between a couch & end table, he said forget this, started working hard to get himself pulled up on the couch instead & before I knew it he was cruising everywhere for 6-7m, walked at 8 & running full speed by 10m. We thought our youngest would do the same, he wanted up on 2 feet holding our hands, just to keep him happy, by 4m, 5.5m he started his weird club crawl, 7m we expected steps, but he started cruising a bit on furniture & gave our backs a rest instead, 9m got up to 10 steps, fell down & bumped his head, didn’t walk alone again until a year old. The kid was holding our finger in grocery stores, he could but wouldn’t.🤣

It’s almost time

Ive been counting down the days to stop breast feeding my daughter. Her dad and I agreed at 18 months. Shes 17 months now. I’m excited but Im also not sure if I’m mentally ready to stop. Idk. I’m feeling mixed emotions about this journey. I need pointers bc putting her on the boob is literally the only way I put her to bed. Like let me have one night so I can sleep on my stomach pls lol

Too emotional

I’ve been crying since about 3 this morning it’s now 5:50 because my little girl won’t go to sleep. She woke up and just won’t settle and it’s really getting to me. I’m getting so overwhelmed with her fussing and crying and the fact she won’t settle. She’s 10 months today and I’m honestly loosing the plot, I just feel like I’m failing and I’m getting so stressed and exhausted.

My whole world is completely shattered

4 weeks left till I give birth maybe less than last time I got checked I was 1 cm dilated but as I wait for the days to go by , I had end my marriage and it completely broke me down. My body is rejecting everything except baby boy and I thank god for that. If I’m up I’m throwing up or crying I don’t know what else to do besides sleep myself into a migraine 😭 it’s currently 3 am and I have a migraine I’m nauseous and tired but can’t sleep and can’t stop the tears. This is my first and only pregnancy I will have I’m completely traumatized.

Any advice or words to help me get through this break up while in the weeks of my pregnancy?

Listen to your babies nurse/doctor

Please listen to your babies nurse/doctor when they tell you to wash your hand after every nappy change after they've had the rotavirus vaccine because ohh boy I have been stuck on the toilet most of the night 🤢🚽😅

Sleep

My 3 month old discovered rolling today. All she wants to do now is roll. Which is fantastic. However she now wants to sleep either on her side or on her front. Ive just done a night feed, ive placed her back into her next to me crib on her back and she has immediately rolled to her front. How can i sleep without panicking? Shes got her head faced to the side so her nose and mouth is not blocked. Im just so worried. Any advice welcome :)
