What is with the obsession of telling me to put my kid in daycare?!!!!

So many people lately have been telling me to put my toddler in daycare and I’m not understanding why?

I’m a sahm. I stay home with my child? Why would I put them in daycare? Every time I ask this I’m met with the same response “ so they can socialize with other kids “

My kid is enrolled in sports, gymnastics, tball, soccer and dance. We do swim and we do a nature playgroup. I have a lot of mom friends and do play dates. We go to the park almost daily.

What am I not giving my kid?

Is it normal to be constantly told this? Are you all putting your kids in daycare? Am I missing something?

Ya ... I got that as well .
If I'm a stay at home mom it's so I can watch my kids not someone else. I feel they say this so we go back to work....

honestly i think people just judge women who decide to stay at home because they don’t understand it, i’m a stay at home wife and will be a sahm once i give birth and my own parents look down on me for it

Yea everyone wants us to put our babies in daycare, and I cant stand it. I dont trust people w my babies. I was sahm but now im working cuz life is fun.

I get that too. Some people think children need 8+ hours of socialization, because that’s what kiddos get in daycare. They think that kids who don’t are “missing out” on something.

I really appreciate everyone’s solidarity in the comments. It’s been weighing on me. My sister and mother have been shaming me and I don’t understand why. My child is an introvert but so is my husband and he was in daycare. I just don’t think it matters!! I want this time with my only baby. I don’t trust some stranger. I just don’t.

How do you feel when someone who talks shit about others is going through something themselves? Someone on here kept talking poorly about someone’s husband on here a while ago and now she herself is separating from her own partner (who she boasted about in the first post months ago) and I just can’t help but laugh. Not laughing at her, just at the irony of it all

How to transition to doing feeds and nappies out and about?!

Hi! My little girl is 3 weeks old today ✨️ we've been out a few times for short trips to have lunch or coffee but have always done it in between feeds. I feel like i need to go out more for my mental health but how do I transition to doing feeds and nappies out and about?! When can I go to the shops and do normal things without her being at risk from the germs?! Also worried about being in the car, she shouldn't really sleep in the car seat and needs to be out of it after 30 mins right?! Anyone else have anxiety about all these things?

Does this make me a ‘bad mom’?

My son turns two soon, last year for his 1st bday and Christmas he got a bunch of toys from both sides of the family. Enough that he still has some put away unopened (some gifts he wasn’t really old enough for yet). I told every one this year for his birthday not to get him anything besides clothes or maybe an outdoor toy. Everyone agreed when I explained why, except my SIL. When my husband mentioned to her not to get any toys she apparently made a comment along the lines of me being mean for telling people not to get him anything.

Does it make me a bad mom or mean for him not getting toys this year?
