Am I weird?

I have a 2 year old daughter and she has an afro. When it comes to hair wash day, she gets in the bath & I get in with her (i wear a vest and underwear.) The reason I do this is because it takes a LOOOONG time to condition and comb her hair & due to my bad back I cant lean/bend for a long time.

Anyway, my MIL said that it was weird to bathe with my daughter? Now i'm thinking surely shes not right???

Not weird at all that's your child! I bathe naked with my child I don't see what the problem is especially when they're that young

that’s not weird at all. it’s not like you’re bathing with random children lol. it sounds like your MIL has been conditioned to think any contact with children like that is inappropriate. obviously if it were someone else’s child it would be but you helping your child stay clean and healthy in a way you are both comfortable with is not weird at all

Thanks girls ! I cannot stand her 🤣🤣 she's constantly digging me out. But i was just like "eh shes my child" hahahaha

I shower with my 5 year old daughter naked. I don’t think it’s weird at all.

Why are you letting others decide what you do what your child?
My daughters are 4 years and 2 years old and I still shower with them

My friend bathed with her mum properly like both in bath together naked until she was about 10 haha xx

Your MIL is weird. There’s nothing wrong with bathing with your babies. It’s bonding. I remember as a child playing in the water with my mom. I may have asked a question or two about what I saw and my mother answered appropriately. Nothing to feel shame from.

23 weeks pregnant and struggling emotionally

Hi everyone. I’m 23 weeks pregnant with my first baby, and I’m feeling really overwhelmed lately.

I’m a first-time mom, so everything about pregnancy is new to me. I moved to the United States about three years ago, and I still don’t really have a support system here. All of my family is back in my home country, and I miss them so much. Sometimes I wish I had my mom or another family member close by to help me or simply be there for me.

It’s basically just my husband and me. He works long hours, so I spend most of my days alone at home. The few people I’ve met here haven’t really been very present or supportive, so most of the time I feel like I have no one to lean on besides my husband.

I’ve struggled with anxiety in the past, and since becoming pregnant, it feels like my emotions have become much more intense. Some days I cry for what feels like no reason, I overthink everything, and I constantly worry that the stress I’m feeling could somehow affect my baby. That thought scares me more than anything.

I love my baby so much already, and I’m trying my best every day, but lately I don’t feel like myself. Sometimes I feel emotionally exhausted, isolated, and like I’m carrying all of these feelings by myself. I also miss feeling like “me.” Pregnancy has been beautiful in many ways, but it has also been one of the loneliest experiences I’ve ever gone through.

I’m not looking for judgment. I think I just need to know that I’m not the only person who has felt this way during pregnancy. If you’ve gone through something similar, how did you cope? Did it get better? Any advice or words of encouragement would really mean a lot right now.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. ❤️

What advice would you give yourself?

I’m a first time mum to a nearly 6.5 month old and I’ll admit I’ve struggled quite a bit with postpartum mental health issues I’ve been referred through mental health services and at one of my recent appointments we finished the session with her asking me to reflect on what I would tell myself freshly postpartum knowing what I know now and it got me thinking just how far we’ve actually come in this time.

So I thought I would share the question. If you could go back to your freshly postpartum self what advice would you give her? I think I’d say to slow down because it goes by so quickly and to just give myself grace because you’re actually doing an amazing job (even if it doesn’t always feel like it)

Im losing my patience

My 16 month old is honestly driving me absolutely up the wall...

She doesnt listen to be which causes me to raise my voice.

Little context she is a little madam we have already introduced the naughty corner so for any unacceptabke behaviour like hitting or biting she gets put there for a minute will then get to her level and explain we need to use kind hand ect

But she seems to be grabbing everything she knows she isnt aloud even if its up high she will find a way to get to it I redirect her saying no thank you we are not aloud to do that but she will then continue to do the exact same thing over and over until I in the verge losing my shit at her.

My partner is no help at all when it comes to disciplining behaviour. Even after multiple conversations asking him if she does something that isnt aloud you must redirect her and tell her why she cant have it.

Im trying to stay calm when telling her off as well and trying to regulate myself as well and breaking cycles from how I was brought up .

Can I please have some advice from mumma that are also trying to break cycles 💔

How long is it ok to let babies cry?

If baby is not hungry, his diaper is clean and dry, he looks comfortable on his back just laying down. Sure I know he could be fussy but have been giving gripe water and of course burping. He just does not want to be put down and if he does he won’t chill for longer than 15 or so. Aahhh 😅

Does anyone have a car wash toy that goes into the bathtub

I see a really cool fun one highly rated on Amazon Canada for about 60 bucks or more but Idk if it can go in the bathtub

Trying to look for new things for the bathtub cuz my son is pretty bored
