Bday party
Hi. I don't know if I am putting too much pressure on myself but this Sunday afternoon is my daughter's bday party and as I am almost 39 weeks pregnant I decided to keep it exciting and festive for my daughter but light in effort on me. So I didn't invite any of her nursery friends because I don't even know the parents yet and decided to only invite 4 families with their little ones who are our local very good friends and we hang out often on the weekend so our kids are friends too. I chose a (ice-)tea-party theme so it will mostly take place in the garden and dining room. In the garden there will be a paddling pool with sprinklers and a small slide and in the pool will be some fishing toys you can fish out (magnetically). There is also a couple toddler bikes and balls and a huge trampoline. But because we only moved recently there is no garden furniture to sit on yet so I thought to spread out a beach towel near the trampoline on the grass and borrow some plastic chairs from my in laws for the patio. There is also a one meter tall car garage and I got a few cars for it so the children are entertained. As for the food, it will all be in a buffet style in the dining table in front of the garden with some coconut raspberry truffles, dulce leche cupcakes, fruit kebabs, feta fried rolls, veggie sticks with hummus and garlic-cheese swirl buns - all homemade. The birthday cake will be white chocolate with two layers and I will colour the top with green to represent grass and I got magical garden-fairy cake toppers and a 2-candle to put on top. The drinks will be some soft drinks like juice, sparkling water and coke but also homemade iced chocolate, french toast iced latte and iced tea in jugs. There will also be some little tea party decor around the table and a present corner.
While I am writing this down I am happy about my plan but somehow I feel a bit stressed, worried that it is not good enough as a party of a host and I doubt myself.. what do you think, is that a good idea, will the parents and kids like that?
