i ask my partner this when he’s with her while i’m at work🫣 i just want to make sure shes getting enough of every food group, i know he sometimes struggles to give her a balanced diet unless i prepare the meals ahead of time.

It’s a pretty normal question for any parent to ask I think?
My mom would ask me and my siblings as tweens - teens what we ate in a day too ? So it doesn’t seem like an offensive question.
“Did the children eat today” is probably something I would be offended by being asked though

I'd be offended ASF BUUUUUT I'm also a hypocrite 😂 I'd be asking if I was out too.

I don’t tell him what I give because if I say yogurt and fruits he would say that’s not food. But it’s part of the pyramid and anyways thankfully the abuse is over and you don’t owe them anything. As long as the kid is fed and cleaned after playtime and eating then all is good. It’s ok to normally dirty but not dirty as in you are ignoring it after a long time they are not playing in sand, mud, eating or whatever but if you just freshly got done with feedings then finish what you doing and clean up no rush but as long as child isn’t ignored. You know. If you worried tell them do not clean up as don’t clean the child so you can see for yourself that they are well called for and everything is fine then tell them it’s ok to clean now

I kind of wish my husband asked more questions like this lol I know he knows that I got it and our son will eat and be fine and if something was abnormal he would hear about it but just kind of like asking how our day was that kind of thing. Gosh if he asked me if he pooped today or how many times I would be happy lolllll
