I’m 27+3 weeks and I’m a type a person. I like to have a plan and know what is going on. This is my first pregnancy and I don’t know what to expect or when to asked my midwife what she thinks about my labour. I don’t even know when to start talking about it with my husband. I don’t wanna google as that never goes well for me 😂.

I've already made mu birth plan and I am 28 weeks.
I need to partner to know everything and the more I talk about it the more it's sinking in.
He's asked for it all to be written down 😀
Its never to early to plan it. Just remember things can change x

Hi 👋 my midwife asked me that question at 20 weeks so u could probably question her about that now and start planning or see options :) good luck and congratulations 🥳 x

My midwife said the 28 week appointment is when we discuss the birth plan.
I’ve done some birth research at home and in the folder they give us there’s like a tick box form which I think is the actual birth plan that gets filled out at the 28 week appt but I’ve kind of drafted my own in bullet points just because I’m too impatient/found it calming to have an idea 🤣

I am yet to decide on my birth plan lol I am not organised in this department at all! My midwife hasn’t even asked me yet so I’m unsure! I’m 28 + 2 🥹

I’d definitely start making a loose plan now but be prepared for it to change, my birth plan went out the window both times (against episiotomy with my first ended up with one anyway, wanted a home birth for my second and ended up with induction) it’s always nice to know what you want and understand what could go wrong and cause the birth plan to change but if you get too hung up on getting your birth plan then it could cause more stress than is needed further down the line x

38 weeks mine was done with my first. 36 with my second.

I had my birth plan ready from 28 weeks but none of them happened due to how quick both births were x

I’m also type A. With my first I did a few birth course and had my options ready! My husband did the course with me and we discussed everything so by the time we spoke to the midwife about birth plan, I knew exactly what I wanted and what my options were! I did ask my midwife lots of questions throughout my first pregnancy so I knew what was available. I had a folder with what I wanted and what I didn’t want and had a few copies. My husband had a copy, the midwife I had for L&D had a copy and it was so useful because I had everything down… as soon as my contractions started, no one could get a word out of me but all my wishes and plan was respected! X

I’m so shocked at these comments I’m Ayrshire, Scotland your birth plan is not discussed AT ALL until 36 weeks unless your high risk… 28 weeks seems more reasonable though!!
