C section

Hello ladies,

I had a c section 2 weeks ago. I'm just wondering when you all went back to the gym, running etc?

I know i should rest for 6 weeks but I might start some gentle yoga.

Just wondering how everyone's recovery has been with a section?

♥️

This is totally dependant on the person and their own recovery.

My first was an emergency as I got sepsis during delivery - my recovery was very very slow - around 12 weeks if I remember rightly.

This time was an elective due to various reasons. I'm not not unwell so in theory should recover much quicker. I'm currently 1 week PP and still very sore and not very mobile at all. I can't see me being able to do any of the activities you have asked about for a good while yet, but time will tell.

I know others who have had sections and their recovery has been so quick. My advice is to try and not have a time frame in mind as I did that last time and it's so difficult mentally if you're not better when you 'should' be

Stretch everything … except anything that engages your core… You don’t want your recovery time to take longer or stitches re opening xx All the best

Membrane sweep

Thoughts and experiences on membrane sweeps? Does it actually work and is it worth the pain and discomfort? I have my appointment on Tuesday I’ll be 39w4d and thinking about asking for one! Idk how many cm dilated I am but 2 weeks ago I went to triage and I was 1cm

4 weeks 5 days with my sixth baby ❤️

I have been having some cramps that feel a little sharper than usual. Sickness is pretty high, had bloods at hospital yesterday HCG levels are 758. No bleeding or anything. Boobs really hurt. I had a miscarriage in 2024 which was devastating and this is my first pregnancy since then and will be my last. I feel all alone with my thoughts that I will wake up and I will be bleeding 😔 I think though tonight I got my first dye stealer on a test 🤞

Spinal Anesthesia v Epidural

Hi! I had my son 4yr ago and currently 5mo pregnant with my second. I have scoliosis of my lumbar spine and didn’t find out until my epidural failed during my last c section and had to be sedated (trauma). When they placed the epidural it was the most painful thing I have ever experienced. I don’t think the numbing worked. Has this happened to anyone else? Is epidural off the table now for my second? I think I would just like to be sedated from the start due to the trauma of it. Looking into spinal anesthesia instead ? Any difference in pain between epidural and spinal anesthesia? I am so spiraling bc I don’t want to have a similar experience.
