The gp has asked for me to get a urine sample from my 7 month old girl!
Please any tips and tricks as sitting with a pot infront of her with no nappy and waiting might send me round the bend 😂

I first tried the trick of putting cold wet cotton wool on my 4 month old's belly to encourage her to pee but it didn't work
So I put her in a paddling pool with no water in and with no nappy on - waited til she peed then gave her a shower right away, then collected the pee from the pool
Another option would be to put them in their bath chair with the collection cup underneath
No elegant solution I'm afraid, but you've got this!

Have you got a potty or something she could sit on/over? As soon as she wakes from sleeping pop her on/over something. Chances are she will wee, especially first thing in the morning.

You can use cotton wool balls.
Pop them in her nappie then once done squeeze into the container. This won’t give a fully clean catch but if you can’t sit an wait to catch it then this is another option

If you haven’t got a potty get a bowl and I had to sit my girl over it and wait. Try and do it around feeding time or even when feeding and should hopefully get some out

We had no luck at all when we tried. They gave us a pot but it just went all over every time 😂ðŸ˜

Get a little potty and put her on it in the morning and make piss noises if that don’t work try again before bed that’s what we done took two days but it worked

You could ask the GP for a nappy collection bag? They are special sample bags that stick to her skin, you just pop a nappy over and when they wee it catches it. You break the seal at the bottom and pop it straight into the pot. We've never had any issues getting these! Or it is a case of no nappy, a sterile foil tray and just waiting! Giving them a big drink helps to speed the process up

I work in a go surgery. We have specific baby collection kits. They have like a cotton pad (like a sanitary towel) that you put inside the baby's nappy and then you can ring it out into the pot. Not a nice job for the parent but much easier 🤣 x
