Rant

Guys I’m sorry to rant but today I genuinely had the worst experience at my 36 week midwife appointment.

I’ve never seen this midwife before and she was just so blunt and rude .

She refused to measure my fundal height , bear in mind I mentioned last time they wrote down the wrong measurement on my notes . I know these aren’t the most accurate but they make me feel better knowing if it’s getting bigger , I had growth scans in the past .

I feel like she accused me of either not taking my iron tablets or taking 84 . I told her I finished my box and she was adamant that I was given 84 and that I’m either lying about taking them or finishing them . Once checking the system it was discovered I was only given 28 🙈.

When I asked to talk about possible birth plan she made a comment that you can’t just schedule a birth plan and not to follow everything I see online . I wasn’t asking for induction or C-section I just wanted to ask about the possibility of a water birth .

The student midwife checked the baby’s heart beat and i wasn’t informed of his position , so I asked and she didn’t seem happy I did . My baby was transverse at my last appointment and I said I was worried that he still was . She followed by ‘what are you worried about ‘ . I said I’m 36 weeks and my baby isn’t head down . What if he stays like that and I deliver before my next appointment?

I’m very paranoid about going over 40 weeks, I’m not sure why I just have anxiety and I mentioned that . For her to then say ‘well he can stay there until 42 weeks if he’s not ready ‘ I understand this is factually correct but I just feel like I was a burden to her today .

Sorry for the rant I’m just really upset about this experience and honestly do not want to attend my next appointment 🙈

Write to your local PALS team x

Agree with Fran, complain to PALS. Email the general team also and request to not be seen by her! This is your care, you can request a change and all of the requests you made within the appointment I would have thought are more than reasonable

Oooooooh she was a bitch!!!! I’d honestly complain or request not to see her again which you can do. But also, you should have an app where they log all the details for you? I check there if they don’t mention anything to me but they’ve been lovely throughout this time.

You definitely need to make a complaint and request not to see her again! Why on earth is she a midwife!?!?

Saw this statement & wondered what you all thought about it..

How?!

How is anyone getting up, looking after baby, doing all the night feeds, managing to keep the house clean and still look presentable?! I feel like I’m really neglecting myself, barely even getting chance to have a glass of water and brush my teeth, let alone do some makeup and get dressed. Any tips would be much appreciated, my baby just doesn’t seem to want to get out of my arms

Light pink spotting at 5 weeks

Hi! This is my first pregnancy, and I’m currently 5 weeks pregnant. Today, I noticed some light pink spotting when I wiped. Should I be concerned, or can this be normal in early pregnancy? I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow.

C section

Hello ladies,

I had a c section 2 weeks ago. I'm just wondering when you all went back to the gym, running etc?

I know i should rest for 6 weeks but I might start some gentle yoga.

Just wondering how everyone's recovery has been with a section?

♥️
