It would raise a lot of questions that they'd have to look into but just because they have their details now it doesnt mean they have to be on the birth certificate

It may prompt the midwife to ask why, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be a red flag for them or that you’ll be viewed negatively. They need to make sure you and your baby are safe and supported so they may ask some follow up questions just to assess whether there are any safeguarding concerns or whether you need any additional support. If the explanation is simply, “I don’t want his contact details recorded,” and there’s no indication of coercion, abuse, or risk, they’ll usually respect that choice.
