Hey ladies, if your partner is not involved in your pregnancy would you still give your baby his last name? This would be my bds first child but he’s a crazy person therefore I don’t want him involved in anything. I’m thinking I want to give my son my last name. I’m sure it will spark a bit of chaos being that my bds father passed so they feel some kind of connection to the last name but I just feel like why should my child have your last name when I’m doing all the work?

Absolutely not. Baby takes mamas last name unless you’re married or plan to. Since dad is crazy and not involved, give baby your last name 🩷

Do your last name! I have to pay to change my son‘s last name because I gave him my sperm donors last name because he has siblings. And my little brother asked why he doesn’t share the same last name when we have the same Dad who was involved so that’s why I did it for my son but the first baby mama doesn’t want our kids to hang out lol

I’m so glad I’m not this lost, my bd was absent most the pregnancy but helping financially at the end. Mentioned wanting the baby to have his last name multiple times and instantly got told no. Not something I would ever consider. If I carried this baby and did all the work why would I name the baby after you? So u can continue to be inconsistent and have your way? Absolutely not. Smh

girl…. HEEEEELLLLLLL no lol I didn’t give my baby his dad’s last name because we weren’t together. He threw a fit in the hospital but I didn’t change my mind. That’s your baby

If I hadn't been married and my girls' dad hadn't been involved, they would've gotten my maiden name (or a shortened version of it). I had a friend whose BD *was* involved, but they weren't together, and her kid has her last name.
In your case, 100% I would give baby your own last name.
