I am 2 weeks postpartum and the father of my child decided to break up with me because ‘’ we argue too much and he hasn’t been feeling the relationship since I got pregnant ‘’ mind you this was after he decided to go out drinking on Sunday with his friend and his friend’s girlfriend. He came home from work for 2-3 hours then went out and never called me till after 1am to say he was coming home, so I told him not to. He also went out drinking with this same friend when I was 1 day pp and still in the hospital to ‘’ celebrate ‘’ the birth of our daughter. He is still here helping out and ‘’ trying to make sure I’m okay but I’m stuck between not wanting to be around or talk to him and wanting to do the right thing by letting him be around his daughter. I’m not ready to have my daughter away from me yet and I don’t 100% trust him to take care of her by himself. Some of the things we argue about is him supporting her head and leaving her at the edge of the bed, etc. He feels like I’m just trynna boss him around. He’s a great person but not a great boyfriend in some aspects which is making this rlly hard.

Get rid like ew what an arsehole, who even does shit like that? Defo a blessing in disguise i say

It sounds like he has a lot of internal things to work out himself. It’s not his life anymore, this is supposed to be the life between the both of you shared with your new baby. He should have stayed in the hospital with you instead of getting drunk with his friends. A true loving man wouldn’t leave his other half alone in the hospital by herself… And a true loving man wouldn’t be swayed so easily by outside influence against your integrity.

Are you looking for advice or venting?
I definitely agree with you both. I do also think that the relationship has been over for some time because of things that he has done and my reaction to those things. I just thought him saying let’s work it out for our daughter meant that he would do the internal work and try to be a better person. Now it just feels like he only said those things to make sure i kept the baby and then toss me to the side as soon as she got here.

100% leave him and get him for child support.
