Sore hips

Does anyone have any advice on sleeping on your side? I’m struggling every night with such intense pain on both my hips when I try and sleep on my side! I’m alright walking around but soon as I’m on my side it’s just so much pain. I’ve tried a few different maternity pillows in different shapes to try and help but not found anything yet and it’s stopping me sleeping at the moment x

Yes, I’m exactly the same! I found putting a pillow behind my back helped, so I just roll slightly on my back but not fully and it just takes the pressure off my hips x

I have found a decent pillow (i use the bbhugme) and some stretches in the evening really help! The nights ive forgotten to stretch i wake up with sore hips and the nights i do them i have no issues! Some simple hip opening exercises or pelvic floor exercises 😊 hope that helps! X

Sounds like pelvic girdle pain! If you speak to your midwife you’ll be referred for physio, they’ll then do an assessment and give you the best stretches to do to help

I am also the same. I can only do so long on my sides, using the maternity pillow and other ones propping me up, until I have to sleep sitting up a bit. Starting to do stretches before bed - hopefully that helps

I was the same from about week 16, dreadful hip pain despite normally side sleeping. I researched lots of pregnancy pillows and decided, while pricey, the investment was worth it for better sleep. I went with one that had a 14 night sleep trial, no quibble returns in that time, so I figured if it didn't help I'd just return it (Kally Sleep U shape, if you want to know). Made the world of difference for me.

I had the same but found that changing my mattress helped. I had a firm mattress as have always been a front sleeper. Changing to a softer memory foam mattress means it gives more and is much more comfortable for side sleeping. This may not be relevant to your situation but sharing in case. Also sadly not a cheap solution. X

Hospital rooms

Hey mamas! So I’ve been learning a lot about advocating for keeping your child in the room while you’re in the hospital. It’s definitely something that I want to do and under no circumstances other than going to the NICU do I want them to leave the room. But I just thought about something. What about if I have a boy and they need to be circumcised is that something that has to be done outside the room?

Gave birth to my baby girl via c section. How to survive the first few days?

It’s been 22 hours post surgery. Baby is happy and healthy but I’m having a really rough time with pain. Not sure if it’s due to uterus contractions or the surgery itself but I’m having immense pain that’s not at all tolerable. Hospital nurses and doc expect me to sit and even walk. How to cope with this?

Should I be worried?

My little girl is 5 months and isn't rolling yet. Should I be worried?

She went through a small phase where she rolled a few times (tummy to back) for like 3 or 4 consecutive days and then she started teething and stopped rolling. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not putting any pressure on her as I know every baby grows at their own pace but Should I be worried?

Waters broken but no labour

My waters broke a few days ago and with my first I went into labour a few hours later. This time round it’s been days and nothing. Drs are going to wait till Sunday to induce but has this happened to anyone else and any way of bringing Labour on ?

Leaking ?

Hey mommas , I'm a bit freaked out, I don't think my water broke I'm only 32 weeks - but I might be leaking ? Idk if that's even a thing .. should I be concerned ?

Its definitely not pee, I was standing next to my sister's car and felt a bead of liquid run down my legs, on both sides so it was enough liquid to make that journey down to my feet... Should I be worried ? Anyone have any idea what's going on??
