Potty training

We are starting to potty train our daughter this week and there’s a few things I’m unsure of so any advice would be appreciated.

- did you still use nappies if you had to nip out somewhere during the few days/week you’re potty training? So if you had to nip to the shop? Or once they were out of the nappies did you commit and not go back to them at all?
- at what stage did you decide then to go out the house without nappies?

We are starting potty training in a couple of weeks and I have an appointment to go to on oe of the days, so I am planning on putting knickers on my daughter with a nappy / pull up over the top so she still feels wet if she has an accident but it doesn't leak.

Apart from that we will be staying in the house and I will be asking family to collect things for us if needed

Mixed emotions

Hey guys, I’m really struggling with my emotions atm. I recently found out I’m pregnant with baby number 3, and don’t get me wrong, I am so happy to be welcoming another baby… I just didn’t think it would happen so soon, as it took us 2 years to conceive both of our other children (this time literally took a couple of months).

I can’t help but feel so disheartened that I can’t fully join in on the events we had/ have planned. My best friend has asked me to join her for some drinks for the past 3 weekends and I’ve had to think of an excuse each time to say no.

I know that this probably sounds so stupid, and might come across ungrateful for the life I’m creating (which I can assure you is not the case), but I absolutely love to socialise and adore the occasional night out… and I feel so guilty for feeling this way!!! My husband is about to head out for some drinks, and I can’t help but feel so jealous of him! I don’t remember feeling this way with either of my previous pregnancies, so I’m hoping I’m not the only one here that’s struggling with this? 🥺

I want to beat my husband in an argument ❤️😂

For context this is a funny argument. Not serious.
So I’m freshly 6 months postpartum and breast feeding. Our baby is going through severe sleep regression and wakes up every 30-40mins for a snack on the booby. If I don’t give it to him he wake up in hysterics. So I tend to get very hungry in the middle of the night and I’ll make my self a snack platter.

That being said when he gets up in the morning for work I’m either still awake or only slept for 30mins. So I haven’t cleaned up all my snacks on my bedside. This goes on through out the day and I accumulate maybe 5 snacks wrapper or a drink container. He said no other woman does this and I’m messy and should clean it up right away.

Given the baby is a Velcro I tend to clean the whole once every two days to three days where I put an hour of dedicated time to deep cleaning everything but with the snacks. I clean them up at night when I refill my snacks and water.

So here’s the debate he says if I can talk to other women who do this and actually prove my point he will apologize. (We are laughing about this but I just want to be right that breastfeeding hunger and little to no time to sleep puts a delay on the little things) 😁🥰

Be honest I’m not sensitive lol.

2yo Birthday presents!

I'm trying to get a head start for my sons 2nd birthday (since I'll be moving right before it) so I would LOVE any recommendations on toys if you have any!
Bonus points if they help with speech or encourage gross motors skills!
TIA😊

Question for those who just started solids

Hey mamas.

This may be a silly question but im curious to know. For those who just started solids, how are you feeding your LO when you are out? What are they sitting on?

Husband on phone from morning until night. Is this normal?

I sometimes have to yell like 5 times for him to respond to me and sometimes he still won’t respond. Our child will be next to him trying to talk to him and he will either ignore her of won’t even hear he’s because he’s so damn distracted.

I tried to bring it up to him and he got really mad and said he’s so stressed because he has so much on his mind and I don’t have a lot on my mind to worry about like he does so the phone isn’t the problem. He said he prob wouldn’t respond to me if he wasn’t on the phone because of how much is on his mind.

He won’t get off his damn phone and it’s been like 5 years. It’s gotten worse as our child got older, but he will literally have his eyes glued to the phone from morning f until night.

He won’t even have much of a conversation with me most of the time it’s unbelievable no matter how much I complain to him.

Marrital advice!

Hello! I need some advice on how to handle this situation. My husband and I (mostly me) are upset because we’re not seeing eye to eye on home stuff. He is being opinionated about home decor and furniture, which is fine as long as we come to an agreement, which we have. Here’s the current issue: I am very much like “no purpose-don’t want it”, so I am constantly cleaning out the closets, donating stuff and being intentional to not create clutter and accumulate stuff we don’t need. He is the opposite. He likes extravagant furniture and likes to have a lot of things that we don’t need. Like he accepted shoes for our son that are definitely too small, which he knew before taking them. He also accepted a TV from his mom that we don’t need. We already have 2 and barely use those. My fear with that is that he will put it in his game room and then spend more time there instead of with his family. He also likes to keep screws for the TV that we don’t need. I tell him that we can afford to buy screws when we need them. Anyways, idk how to handle this without making him feel bad. We just downsized from a house to an apartment, for context, and we had to repurchase a lot of furniture and reorganize lots of things in the process. Any advice welcome! 🙏
