Travel System

Hi all, I’m 21 weeks pregnant / 5 months and I’m currently having a look at all the different kinds of travel systems to see which is best but I have no clue which is going to be best. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Don’t pay full price. Have a look on marketplace to see what’s on offer. I got my Icandy for £200 and it had barely been used. Best money I’ve ever spent

Best bet is like above said buy the pram and bassinet bit off marketplace or something but get a separate car seat. The car seats with travel systems are quite often crap anyway.

Avionaut pixel pro or cosmo are good supportive choices.

Go into a baby store where you car try different prams out, that’s how we choose ours! Many sells second hand too, if you aren’t wanting to spend money on a brand new. But never ever buy a second hand car seat!
We have venicci upline 2 travel system and we love it, but a different car seat, not what would’ve come with it

I absolutely loved my Oyster 3.. for my first 2 I had a Venicci and would not recommend, my front wheel came off crossing the road 🤦🏼‍♀️
Definitely go and have a look and a push round of some, see what you like the feel off and try putting them up and down etc

UK summer holidays 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🇬🇧

I’m making this out of pure curiosity and just for some extra ideas…

I watched a instagram video about how someone had budgeted £500 for this summer holidays and they don’t think it’ll be enough.
This is my first school holidays and I’m term time too so no childcare or holiday club costs and I have one child!

But I can’t fathom spending £500+ for 6 weeks of school break.

I get it if you like to do expensive zoos, days out etc. but so far this week I’ve spent about £22 on activities which was £8 at a local gymnastics center with trampolines, £8 for lunch (kids eat free in dunelm cafe), £3 spent on ice creams yesterday after our park/bug hunting/bike ride picnic and another £3 on ice creams today on the way to the stream for a picnic and to catch fish!

We’ve also been to a free splash pad with friends and have done some arts and crafts at home so far.

How much does everyone else plan to spend or has spent before?

Am i kidding myself that I’m not going to spend much? Should i of budgeted more!😂

9 month on solids

Need some advise please!

My baby has just turned 9 months. He’s always loved his food from the start and never really refused anything I’ve given him. I’ve never done the baby led weaning because I was always so scared and didn’t really understand it. So from the start I’ve been feeding him with a spoon. The last month or so I’ve been really trying him with finger foods like fritters/banana pancakes etc but he ends up just playing with them..chewing some and spitting it out, or even gagging so much that hes sick and throws everything up. I feel like he’s progressing really slowly with his food, but at the same time when I give him smoother food and I’m feeding him I can tell he’s getting frustrated because he doesn’t want to be fed with the spoon, he wants to do it himself, Which I do often let him do, but just uses the spoon as a play toy, so I do have to keep taking it off him to refill it. I’m feeling guilty, thinking maybe I should have done baby led weaning, I know he will get it eventually but I don’t want him to fall behind.

Please some advise would be appreciated 💜

Hubby rant

This annoys me so much . Who else can relate?? My partner works 12 hour days.. he comes home from work.. he goes straight to his shed.. doesn't say hi or anything.. we've been together almost 3 years. We have 7 children combined .. our youngest is 4 months old . All I want is for him to come inside and spend time with me and the kids.. he should be making time for me.. I moved to his small town where I have no friends. I'm bored here on my own.. I've tried talking to him but he doesn't get it.. this sucks . He said he's a hands on dad.. yeah right..he also said this is my job.. it's not one way street

Basically a single mum needing help

So my partner/BD over the past 6 months or so has been a complete arsehole, I’ve got 2 kids to him and my 2nd baby is 4 months old but since I was last pregnant, he’s changed into a massive dick, anyway at the moment he’s been a massive arsehole like usual and I think we’re coming to the end of our relationship and luckily I don’t live with him and I have my own place but he’s not coming to mine this week and my family are busy all week or on holiday and I’ve got no friends since I had kids, my point is I can’t tidy up properly and every time I try to my baby cries as he’s very needy which I love him for but it’s tricky at times luckily my toddlers at nursery 4 days a week but even then it’s difficult when it’s just me n baby I haven’t been able to do a full house tidy in ages and I like to put my music on but I’m just finding things so difficult as I have to keep stopping 10 minutes or so and I’ve only got between 9:30am to 3pm Monday to Thursday to do anything other than that I don’t have any time especially on an evening I’m so exhausted once the kids are in bed.

If you’re a single mum with 1 or more kids how do you cope especially up keeping your home?

I’m stressedddd!

My child has been in daycare/preschool for 5 years. Preschool has taught him letters, numbers, etc and I have also worked with him at home by practicing letters, numbers, shapes, all the good stuff. We read to him every night as well since birth. My kid doesn’t know how to read, and I have no idea how to teach him how to read. How are all of these parents starting kindergarten with kids that already know how to read???
