I want to plan a weekend getaway with my husband and 5 months old baby.
Somewhere within England where we can travel via train,
I am a first time mum and I haven’t been on a vacation before or done anything like it in the past.
I need recommendations on affordable places we can visit and stay, estimated cost and any general tips.

I think it can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be.
I would look at the hotels/airbnbs you like and give them a ring to ask if they have a baby cot/bath which would make your travel a lot lighter.
You also want to be able to sterilise your bottles (unless you exclusively breastfeed than that is not an issue). So microwave / kettle would be required.
for your first travel I would probably opt in for an airbnb with a kitchen to make your life easier or a hotel room with Kitchenette.
Where are you based? I can suggest a few areas but it depends on your location.

I would either go to Costwolds or Peak District. Both destinations are truly stunning.
Look at airbnb, hotels.com or there is a super cute website called canopy and stars for less ‘usual’ stays.

We went to the seaside when our son was a month old. It was only 2-3 hours on a train (granted it's all location based). The only stressful part was navigating the train station and then the busy train, It took a while to get a seat so we had to stand with the pram.
