I was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD when I was 16, I am now 28 and I am concerned my 2 year old has signs of Autism aswell. She does repetitive movements and actions such as pinching her self, she gets extremely upset to the point she screams like shes is being hurt even when no one is thouching her. She makes unusual noises like a grunting or whinning noise, and she has also started with extreme aggression like hitting both me and her father, smashing toys or hutting herself/head against something hard.
She does not struggle with her speak or commumication but with the way she has started to be I worry she may have Autism aswell. She has been very forward in her learning with speaking/reading and is in no way shy when it comes to playing with other children or imaginative play.
But for the past few months we have not had 1 day where she is just calm and does not do these things. Am I over thinking this? I am a first time parent so no previous experience with toddlers, I just have this feeling like something is not right.

I’ve considered the possibility my 2 year old has autism as well but the truth is, it’s hard to know at this age. In my opinion, it’s not really necessary to know at this age either. I think it’s more important once they get closer to school age and I’m more likely to get my son tested around that age if we still feel strongly about it.

Get an evaluation. It’s better to know what you’re dealing with head on. You’ll be best equipped to deal with the tantrums once you know everything there is to know. And you know first hand people can live happy, healthy and full lives once diagnosed on the spectrum. Toddlers are not easy creatures, I have three myself. You’re doing great mama 🤎
Due to her being so advanced we have been told she should be in school so we are currently on a waiting list.
She can read and speaks in full sentenses perfectly at the age of 2 its just the behaviour and aggressions. She cant be going to school hitting other children or kicking off in the middle of class, there is just nothing you can do to calm her down and it can last for hours.
Is this normal for a 2 year 3 months old? My friends toddler do not act like this but my cousins daughter who does have Autism does act like this. I just dont want to be over thinking it with me already having Autism myself.

I too am going through the exact same thing with my 3year old. He is verbal and very bright however can not regulate his emotions. He gets very angry and upset very quickly, I noticed from around 18 months that it was ASD as he was tip toeing, spinning and eye stimming. That has all stopped or reduced significantly. However the temper and anger is a daily thing all day and I am extremely drained and emotionally tired from it. I also think he may have ADHD as he cannot sit still, he doesn't really play with toys much and costly on the go. The second i sit, he makes me get up. I understand what you're going through and I'm still learning with how to support him. You're not alone x
