Please be kind, I’m just looking for friendly advice or thoughts. I had a few names on my baby name list for my daughter that I almost used. I do like her name, but as she’s grown, she really fits another name on my list so beautifully with her appearance & personality. It’s close enough in sound that I don’t think her development would be interfered with. I’m not worried about how others in my life would react to the change, it’s all about trying to decide what is best for her 💕
My thought is to use her given name as another middle name so she’d have 2 middle names 🤍

I think at this age regardless of whether you think she suits another name more, your daughter has formed an identity with her name given at birth and changing it at this age would actually do more damage than you may think to a toddler as you’re messing with their sense of self. Whilst it wouldn’t impact for the rest of their lives it would impact for a while in the here and now.
I guess you need to weigh up whether changing it now would actually be in her best interest or whether it’s for vanity purposes only. If it turns out it’s for vanity purposes only, that’s not a good enough reason to mess with her sense of self.

Just give her a nickname don’t actually change her name.. just my 2 cents ;)
My friends daughter is Amelia and she never really loved it so she calls her Mimi now 🤷‍♀️ whatever works but I wouldn’t actually change it

I personally wouldn’t change her name. She’s 29 months and used to hearing it and regardless if it’s similar it will be confusing.. you could legally add it into the middle and if she wants to go by that or you end up calling her by her legal middle name then that’s that but I wouldn’t change her first name, she’s had it too long x
