Inductions

I had my 36 week growth scan yesterday, everything is measuring perfectly, baby is weighing 6.2lbs and following their growth chart nicely. But I thought it was weird how the consultant said 'ok we will do an induction at 40weeks yeah?' and I was like umm no?? I'm a ftm, had a really straightforward pregnancy with no issues, only reason I have consultant lead is cause my BMI was slightly over the margin and it's my first baby. Has anyone else found that they're pushing inductions without medical reasons?

I literally cried about this yesterday. I was booked an appointment without my consent or knowledge and when I called to ask WTF they said it’s to book your elective c section or induction. I have repeatedly said no to a c-section and no to an induction.

I think with me they are getting nervous about my VBAC but also my bmi was 0.5 over at booking too.

All I can say is keep informed and keep saying no if it’s not what you want x

Absolutely agree with you and Mimi, it's your decision - your baby, your body. Especially if there's no medical reason, there's no need to induce so stay firm and ask what alternatives there are (e.g. extra monitoring if they are worried about anything). Baby will come when they are ready. I'm also nervous about having these convos, they've not come up yet but they've already hinted that it will be discussed at my 40 week appointment (currently 38+5) x

Can’t wee after C-Secion

Sorry if this is TMI

Had an elective yesterday (30/07/26 9:21am) after an emergency with my first, i had to have a catheter in for 12 hours but haven’t been able to go to the toilet since. They did a in and out catheter after 6 hours and said I had another 6 hours to try and go before they would maybe need to refit the catheter again for 24hour observation. But I still can’t go even though I feel absolutely desperate for the toilet.

I’m terrified something is really wrong please tell me some of you have positive stories after this happening and I don’t have some kind of permanent damage 🙈🙈🙈

What is everyone doing for their baby’s first birthday ?

I am being so indecisive on what to do. I would love to throw a birthday party for my babies first birthday but then I don’t want the headache of hosting & setting everything up & cooking the food but then what if I regret not doing the birthday party.

I’m also thinking to just do a cake smash photo shoot instead of a birthday party & on the actual day of my baby’s birthday she will open gifts in the morning & then taking her soft play as she loves soft play so much. Finding it sooo hard to decide what to do!

Anyone else not throwing a birthday party ?
