What is everyone doing for their baby’s first birthday ?

I am being so indecisive on what to do. I would love to throw a birthday party for my babies first birthday but then I don’t want the headache of hosting & setting everything up & cooking the food but then what if I regret not doing the birthday party.

I’m also thinking to just do a cake smash photo shoot instead of a birthday party & on the actual day of my baby’s birthday she will open gifts in the morning & then taking her soft play as she loves soft play so much. Finding it sooo hard to decide what to do!

Anyone else not throwing a birthday party ?

Uncomfortable

I’m a 19 ftm and I wanna know if this would make anyone else uncomfortable or not, so my son is 4 months old and while I was pregnant my husband’s step mom chose to call herself g-mama and she thinks the world revolves around her. My husbands dad goes by toot which is fine and it’s kinda funny, plus it’s his childhood nickname. However I never liked the name she chose and knowing her, when my son starts to say mama she will freak out and be like “oh my god he said my name!” Even if he’s just trying to figure out mama and dada. And she just wants to be called mama again. The name makes me and my husband uncomfortable. Would it make any of yall uncomfortable??

Braxton Hicks

Braxton Hicks… I’ve been having tightenings all day long, not painful ones by any means but they have been on and off. My stomach goes rock hard, and then releases after between 30 seconds to two minutes. Baby has been moving inbetween them, but seems to have gone a little quiet. I’m going to call triage to get monitored, but wondering if anybody else experienced this? Sometimes they are one every half an hour to an hour, and other times I have perhaps 4 or 5 practice contractions every few minutes!

Feel like my body is failing

I know some will think this is dramatic, if you do probably best if you just scroll...

I'm almost 34 weeks pregnant and I feel like one thing after another is happening to my body. Went through severe morning sickness, severe allergies, anemia etc etc. Now, I can barely draw, write, cut up food or do any crafts because my fingers lock into place (see photo). The whole side of my hand will suck in and all my fingers will get stuck in whatever position they are in. In addition to this, I was simply eating a kiwi and my tooth shattered (yes I have a healthy mouth and teeth)... I have been feeling so winded and exhausted, that even if I stand to pour some juice I get extremely tired and have to stop to sit down. Sometimes bad cramps when I get Braxton hicks (all baby movement has been the same and spot on), extremely bad hip and what I call cervix pain. I am aware women out there have it much much worse, it's just making me sad and down because I can't enjoy things I normally enjoy

Year gap

How much gap is good i had my first c section in Feb2023, second in Sept2024 and third Dec2025! What if im falling pregnant again by accident 😮‍💨

C section Scar Location

Hey, this has weirdly been on my mind lately. Where is everyone’s scar(fully healed). I’ve been given so much advice and told I would be able to wear certain clothes due to my scar, and my scar ended up being so low that even ultra low rise are above it—and no i don’t own those cured pant i tried them on out of curiosity.

Mine healed it a little more than my middle finger from my belly button.

Thoughts on induction?

FTM mom here. I’m 37+1 and had a doctors appointment yesterday. Baby is healthy but I’m high key miserable. I’m in constant pain (mainly because I’m a very petite person and my husband is 6’0) so baby is constantly on my ribs. I swear breathing hurts so much and is really starting to affect my sleep. So my doctor offered an induction date at 39 weeks (August 12 when my original due date is the 19th give or take)
My question is, what are your thoughts on induction? Am I being selfish by wanting to speed things up instead of letting baby come when he’s ready? How long does the process take in comparison to natural labor? What are the pros and cons in your opinion? How was your experience?
