Scratching /pinching /face grabbing

Hi everyone, my little one (soon to be 9m)has always moved her arms up and down excitedly when she is happy and this has sometimes meant we get the odd swipe across the face. However lately the swipes feels more intentional. For example when I'm rocking her to sleep, she's trying to grab my face, pull my hair, take my glasses off my face. We're going through a sleep regression at the moment but I don't think the two are linked as it happens often outside of the sleep setting too. We have tried to teach her "gentle hands" by modelling affectionate touch with her hands instead, but beyond this, we are feeling at a loss. Anyone else experiencing this and is it a phase (please say yes šŸ˜…). Is there anything we can do that I haven't thought of? Thanks!

My boy does this as well šŸ˜… think it's just developmentally appropriate and I'm sure they'll grow out of it šŸ˜‚ I just usually distract him with something else like a toy and that usually stops him

My 8 month old does this so much. It’s a firm no for the glasses as I really cant see without them haha but I let her touch and grab my face if she’s being somewhat gentle.

For hair pulling I gently move her hands away from my hair and try my best to remember she doesn’t know it hurts like hell. I usually hold her hand, kiss it and guide it towards her comforter to encourage her to grab that instead. Sometimes works sometimes doesn’t!

I read somewhere the face touching is all about emotional connection, soothing, comfort and a way of showing love. They are feeling comfortable with you and wanting to explore you more. If they are grabbing and pulling rather than touching and patting it can be a sign of over tiredness. Don’t know how reliable my source is though. X

Oh yeah I got stabbed in the corner of my eyeball the other day and couldn’t open my eye the whole day because she hit my face. She was playing and it was an accident but they still don’t feel good haah!

My 8 month old does this. I read that it is their way of showing love for you. Touching/grabbing at us makes them feel safe 🄺 ā¤ļø. The reason it is so aggressive is because they are still learning about controlling their hand properly.

Nappies

Hi girlies, wondering what nappies are decent these days (preferably own brands). I fell in love with Tesco nappies but they’ve now changed the design and they’re so thin and the tabs are super stretchy which makes the tongues come out. Also tried Aldi nappies (they’re alright in younger sizes but find older sizes leak LOADS) and Asda (despised how thin they were). Any people recommend!

Nappies

Super random. But has anybody used nappies like this before, I was gifted them for my baby shower and threw the packaging away & I love them! But I can't find the brand of the nappies to buy more 😭😭

Routine

Is my baby meant to be in a routine by now?

She usually sleeps 7pm-5am but I feel like is this too big a gap?

I have tried pushing naps about but she gets besides her overtired.

Mental health

Since baby has been born I've had this adrenaline spike and it's just continued. Idk how to explain it other than I'm just running at 150% all the time? I walk really fast, my minds going really fast, I'm super quick with my hands. I can change a nappy in less than 10 seconds.

I've been like this since baby has been born. I thought it'd go away but it's continued.

I'm really efficient at everything but it's starting to take it's toll and I'm really scared that I'm going to "crash". I become like a robot and forget my feelings it's like I'm on autopilot all the time.

Does this sound like I'm unstable? Idk what's wrong with me tbh, and idk how to resolve this.

Combo feeding

So… I’ve just had a conversation with my mum about combo feeding when baby comes I.E. breast feeding from the evening through to the morning and then day time feeds being formula, I’m thinking this as as much as it sounds silly I don’t feel comfortable with breastfeeding in public, my mum has shot this right down and told me I’m being stupid and should strictly breastfeed even when I’ve voiced how I feel, what do you guys think? Am I being silly and overthinking the whole breastfeeding in public
