Overwhelmed and anxious at 38weeks

Hey, I’m 38+1 and so overwhelmed with everything and feeling slightly apprehensive now. I’m due 16th Aug, however I am measuring small, according to midwife and scans. I’ve had to go in for extra growth scans and there was talk about inducing me due to reduced movement however I am not yet ready for baby so I put it off last week. Things seemed to have evened out now, and baby was measuring 5lbs7 at my last growth. I still haven’t packed my hospital bag or baby’s bag, and I have no idea where to even begin or which bag to bring. I held off washing baby clothes due to a malfunctioning new wardrobe and I didn’t want to wash with nowhere to store clothes etc. I’ve finally started washing things now and placing clothes in storage boxes for now till I sort the wardrobe out, but I’m worried at my next scan (tomorrow) they might want to start things off. My midwife keeps saying we’ll do the birth plan but we haven’t yet, I’m not sleeping at night and have terrible heartburn :( also I want to try breastfeed this time round and unsure whether to take my breast pump into hospital with me.. any advice please. Thanks

Totally normal to feel anxious. Is this your 1st baby? I would just pack your hospital bag for tomorrow before your appointment incase , make sure you have comfy clothes for after birth and 1/2 night dresses for yourself too , tiktok will help you with knowing what you need to pack , as for a birth plan I don’t really think you need one as it can go either as planned or not. In my case with my 1st it never went to plan it can sometimes make you think too much about what your labour should be like because of the birth plan. Your hospital should have breast pumps for you to use there when in also , they will also have milk if you need it for baby. Need any advice help message me. I am 37 weeks and it’s my 2nd baby x

No one can force you to go in until youre ready, you arent full term yet so try and take a breath. Any bag will do- a holdall or a small suitcase. You dont need anything crazy- nightwear, big pants and pads for you, flip flops, fan, water bottle, toiletries, charger and a comfy outfit to wear home. For baby just nappies, wipes, some vests, sleepsuits and muslins. Anything else is extra and someone can pick them up for you. No need to bring your pump as it takes a few days for milk to come in.

Remember its not mandatory to wash everything for baby either, they will be just fine.

Throw some bits in a bag tomorrow after your appointment and maybe try some meditation or hypnobirthing podcasts etc. Ask someone to grab you a big bottle of gaviscon. You’ve done this before and you can do it ❤️

Sorry youre feeling so overwhelmed, it’s definitely normal feelings for valid reasons! Im also 38 weeks and ive been measuring small through the whole pregnancy dont stress too much about it if the midwives havent expressed theres any other issues, some people carry differently. With the midwife just communicate, honestly with the birth plan its just a rough guideline more for peace of mind over things being planned (its on badger if you have the app, have a look through and you can fill it out yourself) Bring anything you want into the hospital! 100% bring whatever makes you feel more prepared! As long as you have some clothes ready and bits for baby girl youll be fine :) Have a look on youtube for people packing hospital bags and take a relaxed approach to it, just pack what you feel you want with you, a few outfits for both of you, charger, underwear, toiletries and pjs are a good baseline.

Due date

Today is my baby's due date... he's been in the NICU for 11 weeks 4 days and still counting

I'm not sure how to feel about today, lots of emotions but also feeling numb?

When having a baby you don't ever think you'd need to process these thoughts and feelings and now its happening and I just feel a bit... lost?..

NIPT

Anyone in Australia, have the NIPT test? Can you tell me about it? Is it a blood test? How long until you get the results? When can you get it done?

So bored!?

I am getting so bored of waiting. My due date isn't until 14th Aug but I really hoped baby would come last or this week as my 1st came at 38 weeks very quickly. I am starting to think baby will still be there on due date🥺 All midwives were certain I'd have baby by now or end of this week due to my 1st labour
I dont know how to fill my days and I am SO bored as now don't have much work to do. Any tips to fill the boredom and continously waiting for nothing🤣
