My pediatrician recommended seeing a speech therapist at 18 months if speaking less than 10 words. But he said that certain sounds (if they clearly have a meaning, like wa wa for water, and animal sounds) also count as words at this age.
But like you said, every child is different, so I wouldn’t be concerned. You’re doing a great job!

You can check with your pediatrician to see what they recommend! I would look at the language milestones as a whole and see if you think your child is progressing overall. How is their receptive language?

Sometimes I think kids who have an older sibling meet milestones earlier - because the older sibling is the model for things, but then sometimes it’s later because they “let” the older one do things for them. My cousin didn’t talk for a long time when he was really little - he let his 4 older siblings talk for him.

Don’t forget to include animal sounds or signs in their word count, along with approximations.

Humping

Because another parent gave me the strenght to talk about this.

My daughter is 28 months diagnosed level 2 and she has sensory needs as well for the past few months she has been “humping” to self soothe herself I would like to know for parents who dealt with this what would be a healthy way to deal with it ? How did your redirect to maybe let’s say a pillow but in the bedroom only and things like that she is considered non verbal but she follows instructions really well if helps at all ♥️ thank you for your advices im just trying to see if it would be okay to redirect to an appropriate area to do it rather than just trying to make it stop if it’s helping her regulate

Am I being unreasonable for 1 day?

Am I being unreasonable here.. my baby is 5 months old doesn’t sleep well in the buggy/pram has always slept better in her cot. My dad has invited us over for the day but expects my LO to take her naps in the pram which is going to result into a very grumpy baby as she will only nap in there for 20 mins/half hour max and I don’t feel it’s fair either. Nothing at my dads for her either like a travel cot etc and I just can’t be arsed with the hassle of it all if I’m honest, he’s in a grump with me now and hung up on me after me explaining this to him. I would of thought his partner would be understanding of this seeing as she’s a woman who’s had kids, wtf

4 year old has stopped sleeping

Just as our 1 year old has started sleeping.

A year of an average of 4-6 hours sleep a night I am losing grip on reality 🥲.

I'm finding it so hard to not flip out at my 4 year old when she wakes up.

We used to sit or lay with her, read to her, stroke her hair, if she woke in the night. Then one night she woke almost every hour, which went on for nearly a week. When we snapped she admitted she was doing it because she wanted us to stay with her.

Completely understandable for a four year old. Not something I can do as I need to sleep. She cant come in our bed either as we have tried, she just doesnt fall asleep for hours. Also cant do as we need sleep.

Now when she wakes we cant do the nice gentle things, as she will just keep waking and wanting them allll night. The only way is to just get in and get out as fast as possible.

Last night she got us up 5 times because she wanted her blanket put back on. I'd love tooo! But now I cant tonight as thats the next thing she is using.

Please help. I love her.

I am too tired to be nice to anyone. I want to be nice to her!! I want to solve it!! Everytime I am nice in the night she wakes up 5 times.

Baby is also teething.

I think a lor about getting hospitalised so I can rest 🥲

Antenatal Health Visitor appointment for second pregnancy/baby???

I am due a antenatal home HV appointment tomorrow for my second pregnancy. I never even saw a HV until after the birth of my first baby.

Has anyone else been offered or had one of these for a second baby? What happened at the appointment? Is this a new thing? We are located in the south/East.

The letter is very vague and just says it’s to discuss my current pregnancy.

We do not have additional support or contact in place from any other agencies and haven’t see a HV since my first son’s 10 month review.

How much should 8 week old have in 24 hours

How much does everyone’s 8 week old drink in a day? My baby has gone from having 4 ounces totalling 24-28 ounces a day to having around 20 ounces in a day is this normal? She did have suspected cmpa but totally refused the allergy milk so we have gone back to normal cow and gate. Does anyone else have this issue should I offer the bottle less often or do I stop pace feeding?
