Why do non-mums not understand us ?

So my friend texted me and I was quite busy with my kid and my niece and nephews they were crying, etc. Just a lot was happening, I was overstimulated and hardly on my phone. I called her, she didn’t answer twice. Long story short, I didn’t reply to her messages in time, and then she texted me at around 2am saying “I’m just not gonna contact you anymore atp”.

What I find quite distasteful, really. Like my time isn’t my own anymore? I reply or call as much as I can, but I just feel like she doesn’t get it or see that I’m trying to balance motherhood and being that same girl I was before pregnancy but In actual fact I’m not I don’t have that free time I use to have. And I really don’t like the guilt she’s trying to make me feel. My child will ALWAYS come first, especially when they are distressed.

It feels like most of the friends I have aren’t really my friends anymore, they’ve really distanced themselves. Motherhood can get so lonely at times 😔

Would any other mums like to connect? Just chat about these experiences, vent, or even meet up for a coffee or let’s be honest, something stronger! 😂 I’m from Essex, UK ❤️

I understand this soooo much. My friends were way more understanding than my family. My family has always been demanding and upset if I don’t call or text back right away. I am always down to have a long distance bestie since I’m front the states!

Then tell her not to ring in the daytime when kids are awake. My non mum friends (even some of my mum friends who are night owls or got home from work) tend to ring me around 8-9pm when they’ve just put their kids down, or their partner is doing the bedtime routine and it’s the start of their kid free night when kids are sleeping. If she doesn’t wanna hear the chaos of kids ask her to ring at night perhaps. Or weekends when partner is home from work and you can sneak into the room for an hr to chat

Milestones

Hi mums,

I am wondering on your baby’s age and their current milestones?

My little one is now 7 months old and still can only roll that’s it.

Brushing teeth at night?

For those whose babies have teeth - how are you brushing their teeth at night? My baby still falls asleep on the bottle so I've been doing his final brush before that, but thinking I need to figure out how to brush his teeth post bottle, even if he's asleep

Travel pram recommendations

Hey ladies. Please give me travel pram recommendations. I've heard of Bugaboo butterfly and Joolz Aer 2(is that right?). Not actually travelling until December but want something to take baby boy in from when he starts nursery in September anyway.

Baby bouncer opinions?

Hey mamis! I’m looking to buy a baby bouncer and I saw the Baby Bjorn one but unfortunately is a little outside my budget. Does anyone know about a baby bouncer that’s good, can carry a 2month old 10pounds almost 11 pounds and is safe?
