I’m almost 4 weeks postpartum, I exclusively breastfeed and haven’t had any issues, when my milk first came in I had some engorgement and soreness, lumps just from the fullness but once the milk regulated we’ve been fine feeding and my boobs have been more soft not been getting hard or lumpy. Today they have been lumpy and very sore to touch and I don’t know why

Has baby fed less than usual? Maybe a build up but also it takes a few weeks for milk to regulate anyway. Try to hand express some in a warm shower to relieve the pressure. Mastitis would give you some red sore hot patches on the boob. Also a fever / general under the weather in the early stages. Keep an eye on it x

I had one boob do this to me this morning, and I just pumped it and worked out the milk build up, it was painful but no red spots etc.
Took 30 minutes to get 50ml from it after bubba had eaten.
Just keep working them. Have a hot shower that helped me and make sure your LO feeds from it first so they drain it as much as possible.
As hard and painful as it might be, slow massage from the chest down toward the nipple helped me too.
Good luck.

When I had mastitis it started with a fever hot and cold, then had a big red lump - I thought it was ok because lots of forums said it was. Unfortunately I was borderline sepsis and spent a week on hospital with a serious infection.
If you have concerns please see your GP asap to be safe. They will give you antibiotics if it is mastitis. Take care x
