Gestational diabetes

I had GD diagnosed from 28 weeks with my first, diet controlled until 36w when I got put on Metformin and was induced at 38.5w. Little one arrived via natural birth at 39w 4days weighing 6lb 5oz, only needing help with vacuum tool as he turned his head at the last minute. I was predicted a 9lb baby 🫣 Hope this reassures you but also let's you know anything can be possible.

That’s reassuring to hear! I really want a vaginal birth of if I can so finger crossed, wow a big difference in weight as well

2 GD pregnancies, 2 vaginal births, no shoulder dystocia.
2 normal sized babies too- one was born early at 35 weeks (spontaneous labour) but was already 6lb 14oz so would have been rather big if he went full term, the other was induced and born at 39 weeks and he was 7lb 1oz (but they also predicted him to be enormous)

That’s so reassuring to hear! I’ve got my next growth scan next week so will definitely take the predicated weight with a pinch of salt 😂
