Back Issues

Is anyone having back problems after giving birth? I never had an issue with my back in my life but since having an epidural (I also had a failed epidural so also had a blood patch to resolve so 3 epidural needles in total over 2 days) my back is so achy and when I wake up it's so stiff and sore, I also struggle to bend down and getting back up after doing bath time is an Olympic sport. Did anyone have the same/ have any tips? Please say this gets better over time! 14 weeks PP tomorrow!

I had a c section and had spinal anaesthetic and I’ve got really bad back pain. I’m 12 weeks PP but I did have back problems before pregnancy

I’ve had an epidural and 3 spinal in 4 years, my back is doneeee 🙃 I do have hyper mobility in my spine too which doesn’t help! But I’ve recently been referred for physiotherapy and prescribed some breastfeeding safe pain killers but they make me quite sleepy so only take sparingly. I’m at the point at the moment where I’m in constant pain, struggle to lift my baby, wouldn’t even try and carry her up the stairs!!

my back definitely isn’t what it used to be or should be for a 20 year old although I didn’t have an epidural however my friend who had an epidural gets zaps when she bends down and back pain that she says is unbearable. Have you spoken to your doctor to see if anything can be done! Wishing you all the luck and hope your back gets sorted 🫶🏽

When a big ass needle goes into the spine it May or may not hit some nerves, it can do permanent damage unfortunately my bestie has a 4yr old and too scared of labour to try again for another baby coz her back is F*d and she blames it on epi also. Chiropractor, to help align the back (and that back crack, WoW it feels good 😅) massages to work knots out, and acupuncture all 3 will help if done regularly and consistently. They all help target the back and back pain but each in their different ways. Oh and stretching also helps. Morning stretches, yoga. Unblocking the locked hips, it’s attached to the lower back.

Yes, my back was buggered. Have you been doing any exercises? I’m not really an exercise person so it pains me to admit it’s helping 😂 I’ve found the les mills body balance classes most helpful. I imagine any exercise that focuses on strengthening the core & stretching will help - maybe yoga?

Creeped out

Currently 28 weeks pregnant and have felt movement since around 17 weeks. I still get uncomfortable and creeped out at the fact I have a baby moving around. My stomach turns when she can be very active. I feel concerned I’m not bonding and only feeling more distant. Anyone else feel like this?

Birth stories

I’m early on like 8 weeks and terrified of labour.. but to the point where I would rather have an elected C section. I’m not under any illusions that will be painless and without its potential complications but it just makes me feel more in control.

I want to hear other people’s birth stories.. people who felt the same as me but then as they got closer went down the vaginal birth route because there worries died down.. those who stuck with elected C sections and what was the recovery like? People who wish they went down a certain route?

Appreciate things can be taken out of your control regardless but I would love to take everything into account when making a decision.

I watched one born every minute and thought.. omg I can’t do that, how do women go through that.. and I think I’ve scared myself to death.

C sections

My friend just had her first baby and said 9/10 of her NCT group all ended up with cesereans despite them all trying for a vaginal.

I was SHOOK....like actually wtf!

I am all for c sections for women who actually want them/obviously for women who absolutely need them.

But is this rate really reflective of our maternity services?!

If so, that is absolutely horrifying!!!

2nd pregnancy

Can someone tell me how difficult it is to deal with recovery from a c section with a toddler. I had a c section with my first and this will be my second. They will nearly be 2 years apart when baby is born. Also can someone help a gal out on how to rest with a toddler and pregnant, while very busy and moved away from home but have a brilliant partner who works all the time. I’m only very early but feel like I don’t have a chance to enjoy and appreciate the pregnancy as much as I should.

Idk if I should get medical attention or something normal-ish

I have 2 babies that are 2 and 3 yrs. Both were c section. But since the last one whenever I cough a lot or very hard I feel like something twists inside. Like on my right side by my belly button.
There was a lady that said she also experienced the same. She said it was because we didnt wrapped our abdomen correctly or at all. It doesn't last long, the "twist". It is uncomfortable though. Not painful.
Has anyone else felt that? Not sure if i should run to the doctor?
