Talker or mover

Has anyone found their baby was either a talker or a mover? My baby is pulling to stand but really not babbling much at 10 months. He’s has in the past but the last couple of weeks he has been so quiet. Wondering if anyone else’s LO stopped being social whilst learning a new motor skill?

Yes my first was a talker and slow to walk, my second is far more active always on the go, and the HV did say they tend to talk later when they’re like that. He’s 22mo’s now and he’s just now starting to ramp up the words he uses!

Yeah they can’t really develop two skills at a time so tend to focus on one - when mine started crawling and cruising he went quiet then noisy again. Talker or a walker is what they say x

My son was a walker he was walking at 10 months but I would say he was quite delayed with his speaking and only started to talk properly a good few months later x

My first was an early walker late talker and my second seems to be an early talker late walker.

Yeah, my little girl is 14 months. She walked at 10 months and still only really says mama and dada. Shes only really just started babbling properly but still no consistent real words other than the mama and dada.
She claps, points, shakes her head for no and yes etc but not much of a talker yet

My 1st, a boy, was quick at motor skills (especially fine motor skills) And my 2nd, a girl, started crawling at 6 months and started talking typical around 11/12 months but now at 20 months speaks in 4 word sentences easily. Obviously every kid at their own rate. And yes I noticed they can tend to babble/talk less when learning a new unrelated skill then go back to being chatty when they master the new skill.

I definitely feel My daughter is more of a talker . She only crawled towards the end of 9 months and even now prefers not to and has only pulled to stand a couple of times now at 10 months . She is full of chat though and knows many animal sounds and good at clapping , pointing and waving and kisses . I have a feeling she won’t walk until after 1 at least .

My son was climbing at 6 months walking at 10.5 and by 1 had 10 words in 2 languages plus signs.
My daughter babbles like crazy, crawled at 5 months, walked at 12.5 and only has 2 words at 14 months (daddy and up). My daughter will answer you and have conversations, but they aren't words.

Yeah mine were both movers - first walked at 10 months, second at 11 months.
Talking was 18 months and 22 months.

Now they’re just noisy whirlwinds, walking and talking all over the place 🤪

My sons now nearly 4 and he was a mover! Even when he was a couple months old he was constantly kicking his legs when laying down. Was crawling at 6/7 months and walking at 11 months. He's always been a mover and always on the go. He was speech delayed and its only been since he turned 3/3.5 that he's fully caught up to others. He's still a little behind but honestly not by much!
I remember being so so worried at the time that he was behind but the old saying "they do it in their own time" is so true. All you can do is help them and give them the opportunity to learn new things. For mobility lots of floor time for speech lots of repetitive talking helps.

My son started walking independently at 7months, was running by 10 months 😫 didn’t speak much til he turned two.

Our pediatrician had the theory of “early to walk late to talk” but he’s still what I would consider semi verbal & non conversational at 3.5 now

PPA & PPD

I just had my baby 8/1 and severely struggling with anxiety and depression. I’m constantly thinking something is going to happen so I don’t sleep. I’m constantly checking on him throughout the whole day and night. I’m running on minimal sleep and don’t know how I’m going to survive once my husband goes back to work. I feel so alone. I love my baby but hate the newborn stage because of what it’s done to me.

What would your reaction be if your partner offered to get you a boob job?

Sleeping through the night

My baby is sleeping through the night completely now, from 8:30-6:30. This means he’s dropped 2 feeds, but is still having the same amount during the day. Shall I offer more during the day as he’s technically having less now? He doesn’t seem to want anymore in the day though.

Cluster feeding

Has anyone come out the other side of this yet? 😅 and if so, how many weeks along until it finally eased off?

Our LO is only 2 weeks old so know it could be some time yet.. 👀
