Hi all.
I was told before giving birth that the epidural can cause back issues later on in life so I opted out. But ended up with an emergency c section. I'm now nearly 18 months pp, I'm experiencing severe lower back pain and stiffness. I cannot pick up my child, bend or move much. I've had lower back pain since giving birth but nothing like this.
Any advice pls thanks x

I would go get checked out .. They can then prescribe something that won't hurt you or your breast feeding (if you still are)...

I had my son emergency c-section. Usually they do not give you an epidural but spinal anaesthetic which is similar. If done incorrectly (typically during emergency caesarians) that can cause irreparable damage to your spine.
This happened to my mother with the epidural with my eldest sister and she still has severe back problems today (35 odd years later). The only thing that has helped her has been physical therapy and pain management.
Unfortunately it may be something that won’t go away so it would be best to go to a doctor to see how to manage with it as you should be able to lift and hold your child and do basic tasks. Best of luck with your recovery and hope you get the necessary support x
