Baby boy is here!

Well, life certainly loves to surprise us! 💚

On August 12th, I headed in for my routine 9:45 AM perinatal appointment for gestational diabetes, expecting a standard check-in. When things started taking longer than usual, the doctor gave me the news: my fluid levels were almost completely gone, and it was time. Next thing I knew, they were walking me straight over to Labor & Delivery!

I fought hard for the natural birth I’d hoped for, spending hours trying to work and walk through the contractions. Eventually, I made the call to get an epidural, and thank goodness I did, because Baby C was completely over the waiting game! His heart rate started dropping, and for his safety, we quickly made the decision to move forward with a C-section.

It definitely wasn’t the exact path I had envisioned, but it brought us the ultimate reward. On August 14th at 2:00 PM (5 days ahead of his actual due date) we officially welcomed our sweet, healthy boy into the world at 6 lbs, 2 oz!
Everyone, meet Caius Green 💚💚💚
It was quite the wild experience, but we are so in love and so grateful he’s safely in our arms!

8 weeks pregnant - upcoming wedding!

I'm 8 weeks pregnant. We have an upcoming wedding in 3 weeks time (so I'll be 11 weeks when we go).

I didn't realise until today.... my abdomen has drastically changed already. I live in scrubs and pyjamas. So, fine, it is what it is. Bloat has hit hard, made me look 6 months pregnant already. Can't change it.

But this is my first time being pregnant. And I'm now a bit self conscious. Every dress in my wardrobe is giving the same effect. And I have no doubt all the others currently on their way to me will too.

Do I just look "fat"? My friend has advised some pregnancy shapewear so I've ordered that. Is that okay? Any other advise? 😫

Side and downward view provided..... (I also have the wrong bra on for this dress - work bra, so I'm not held up right. But that's easily fixed!!). I'm breathing in on the front and side view, downward view is relaxed and you can see how big it is already.

Thank you ladies 💛

Baby dropped

35 weeks today! Deffo feel like baby’s dropped, last midwife app said she’s head down and my last came at 36 + 6 so we’re trying to be prepared as they said there’s more chance of her coming early!
Hips and back are killing me!
Anyone else dropped?

Pregnant again!

We are pregnant with our second baby and although I really want a second baby, mostly for our first baby, I am freaking out. We’ve just hit a sweet spot at 23 months and we’ll be starting over again in 9 months. I thought I’d be more excited but I’m stressed! And my husband feels worried that our relationship will struggle which worries me too.

Just need to get it off my chest and would love to hear from anyone with two or who’s just found out they are pregnant.

Maternity triage / midwife pushback

If feel like every time I’ve called they just push back, I called today after my sister who is a nurse told me contact the maternity so that they could monitor my blood pressure as I put up 1.6kg in 6days and that’s quite a lot for me compare to my normal weight gain so far as I’ve put 12kg total since pregnant (now 36+5).

So I called and the person I got on the phone said they ignore weight gain completely as it’s not an indicator of anything, she didn’t ask me about any other symptoms either and when I said if I was to put up another 1kg in 3 days should I worry, she said no they don’t need to know about it…

They always said to call if we have questions or worries but then every time I’ve called they don’t want to hear about it.

Also baby is already estimated to be 80th percentile before that weight intake.

When to buy things

So this is my first baby, im so excited to go start buying everything!
I'm 21 weeks, and in my head it's too soon but I'm also stressing about leaving everything too late.
The reason it's too soon is bacause
1. I don't know what I'm doing, I might buy the wrong things and then can't return them
2. I feel like I'm tempting fate, like something bad will happen
3. I don't know what other people are going to buy for her

Do other people think like this?! 😅
